Skullgirls will have a PC version, could be compatible with PS3 version

5/6/12 10:20pm

Earlier this week, the Skullgirls development team revealed on the game's official Twitter page that they are currently working on a PC version of the game and it'll be digitally distributed via GameFly, GamersGate, GameStop PC Downloads, Origin, and Steam.

Oh and apparently, they're also hoping to add cross-platform play implementation to allow PC users to duke it out with PS3 owners. Although, if they're able to pull this off, this feature would have to have be added a few months after launch.

Speaking of which, a concrete release date can not be given at this time, but the developers did say they're expecting to see it launched by the end of summer.

It's great to hear that PC gamers can enjoy this fun little fighter as well and being able to face-off against PS3 users is definitely a neat bonus.

Actually, as 360 owner, I'm kind of jealous. But there's no sense in losing my head over it. ;)

awesome, though they need to add some sort of ranking or reward system to the online, because its really just leaderboards on there

Dammit Ryan! I blogged about this...but in all seriousness it's still cool to see a PC Version of Multiplayer be cross compatible on PS3's

I was planning on getting this for PS3 but I guess now I might get it for PC. Not that I have a shortage of games on Steam thanks to the sales, but still.

I might get it, since I haven't bought it on the 360 due to having to pay for Microsoft points first...

the PS3 has an open internet service while LIVE is based on apps now. I don't ever expect cross-platform play on LIVE, at least not on the 360. it sucks.

Its always verty interesting when this spreads to more genres, not just FPS's.
