Sony announces price cut

8/16/11 2:12pm

Sony announced today at GamesCom that the PlayStation 3 console will be getting an immediate global price cut. The magic number across the board is 249 with the price now dipping to US $249, €249, and ¥24,980 from the original price of US $299.99.

Sony is making another cost-saving move to release a new value PSP model in Europe this fall. The catch? They'll be dropping the wifi function in exchange for the pretty price of €99. No word yet if the new model will make it across the pond to the US or other areas around the globe.
