Sony to discuss PS4 'release plans' at upcoming Gamescom
It’s no question Sony had an amazing outing at this year’s E3 event, as the company’s upcoming PlayStation 4 pleased many in attendance and at home. However, afterwards, one question that still lingers is a definitive release date; something that may finally be answered at next week’s Gamescom.
In a recent post on the PlayStation Blog, Sony outlined what they plan on showing at the upcoming event in Cologne, Germany. A portion of the post read, “We’ll kick off the show at 18:00 BST on 20 August 2013 with a briefing to media on our release plans for PlayStation 4, as well as updates on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.”
The PlayStation 4 currently has the release window of Holiday 2013 and is set to cost $400. There is also a rumored $500 option, however, which could bundle in a PS Vita.
So, g1s excited to hear more PlayStation 4 news? Or have you already decided you’re going down the Xbox One path? Be sure to leave your thoughts in the comment section down below!
Who would go down the Xbone path? Sure they removed all the crappy limitations and policies but they didn't add anything special. But even with the PS4 I'm waiting for both a price drop and for a few games I want to play to build up.
But you have to buy them on SEN store to get all the free games and can download them when you get one.
I get to go to GamesCom this year for work, but don't know if I'll be able to get in to the Sony event :D
And by the time you actually buy one, you already have a collection waiting for you. (If you have PS+ that is.)
One thing I can give Sony Credit where credit is due- they actually SHOW UP at public events, and discuss what's going on for the next few years! I'm sticking with Nintendo and Sony for the next Console War. I want to get a PS4- but not right away. I'll wait for a price drop, or something else comes up that wants me to get the PS4.
