Sony making sure PS4s will be available in store on day one
If you’re finding it hard to pick between the PS4 and Xbox One for this coming console generation and can’t pre-order either, you’ll likely find it easier to obtain the former of the two. Or at least that's what Sony’s Jack Tretton recently revealed to FOX.
During the 7-minute interview, Tretton discussed how Sony intends on having the PlayStation 4 available in-store on day one, which is an especially tough task considering the amount of hype surrounding the console in addition to it’s success on pre-order numbers alone.
The interview, which can be watched in full HERE, goes on to discuss the inevitable console war, along with Tretton mentioning multiple times how the PlayStation 4 will be the “biggest launch in history.”
But what do you think g1s? Are you leaning even more towards Sony, knowing your chances of getting their console on day 1 is even greater? Or are you just going to give the console’s some time before you make a decision? Let me know in the comments below!
Agreed, I still have some great PS3 games to play before I upgrade to the PS4.
I call foul. Sony has already said two things; first that pre-orders were way higher then expected (using incredible strong language, one time even say "orders of magnitude higher") and second that they don't have a ton of day on units. So basically they are saying "we only expected to sell 10, so we made 10, but got orders for 100, but it's cool, we'll just make 90 more, and then some". That's simply not possible.
Either they limited pre-order numbers to hit "sold out" as soon as possible even though they had a ton of stock in a warehouse, or pre-orders after the first rush have been well under expectation. Given that MS said the same about stock, I'm voting the latter ... pre order more then likely have come up way short of what they expected for both systems after the e3 buzz, and now they are trying to justify the extra stock they are going to have (after telling us they "sold out") as something they are doing because they are awesome.
Already Pre ordered mine months ago so I'm not worried about it. It's not gonna be day one since I have to wait a few days for the shipping but I'm sure to get my hands on one 2-3 days later.
Definitely giving them time. There isn't anything I'm looking forward to from any of these and hopefully people will take advice from Brentalfloss about consoles at launch. Let the ignorant parents buy it for their kids and wait patiently for the good games to come out.
