Sony reveals images and details regarding the upcoming redesigned Playstation Store
Besides showing off several screens of the redesigned Store, several details and changes were also revealed recently by Sony themselves.
The redesign uses a carousel-type scrolling system which moves from left to right with the goal making information a lot more accessible on the front page of the store. A new feature called "Hero" themes will showcase a different video game character on each page to help advertise games from those specific series.
The search bar has also been redesigned which will auto-correct spelling mistakes and include multiple filters to make searching easier than with the current Store setup. The store will also do a better job at separating PSP and Vita games from PS3 games as a way to help speed up on finding games for a particular system.
Release dates for the redesigned will occur on October 17 for Europe and October 23 for North America.
I think Screwattack needs to make some cameo's and plug SGC through other sources. I am loving all the internal love but I believe for the kickstarter to make it we need to have people want to go to this party who may have never heard of Screwattack before.
I barely use the playstation store but I guess it looks nicer.
No, it isn't limited. My download list is over 1,000 items long.
I'm sorry. The way I phrased it could have been confusing. The PS3 and store itself is not limited to 250 downloads. It's unlimited as long as you have the hard drive space for it. However a feature on the store is called the download list. This is where you can browse purchases or downloads you've made in the past. If you can find it on this list, you won't have to re-buy the game. All you have to do is click the past purchase and it downloads to your console. The only problem is that it's limited to your last 250 purchases/downloads only. Between demo's, free games and dlc from playstation plus and the games and DLC that I actually bought, I've easily used up 250 slots in the last year or so alone. Everything else before that is completely lost, and the only way to retrieve it (Keep in mind I had to delete things due to lack of space on the hard-drive) is to rebuy it.
That's why I wish the download list was extended to include all purchases you ever made on your account.
I hope the laggy ass menus is fixed
What I want fixed is the terrible lag I get when trying to back up through the store menus.
it kind of looks like the xbox marketplace.... I dont really enjoy the xbox all together I own both These facts will stop an argument from starting
Because it was fine how it was.
Why bother keeping the old one? Answer me that.
Looks pretty good, hopefully I wont have to squint my eyes to read text like the present version.
"CHANGES?!?! RAWRAWRAW ITS BAD RUBBLERUBBLERUBBLE IT SUCKS BLAHBLAHBLAH THE OLD ONE IS BETTER BLAPOSRIGHRPOBNRIAOPIGHROAGHNAROHGIRNOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!" And that is the opinion of most people on the internet.
oh good because i really hate the blue background they have right now or whatever color it is right now
It looks really nice. While the latest design was nice as well, some things were harder to get around to. Hopefully this design is more intuitive and organized.
Limit to 250 downloads? What?
Uh...It's alright but, why bother changing it.
not being able to search my downloads is not my biggest concern. I've had the PS3 since it launched. There's several things I bought in the beginning of its lifespan that I have zero access to. I have to completely rebuy it because the limit is 250 downloads.
Well, the current Store fails in that I can't find all content related to a specific game without having to go to "All Titles" in the Store top. I'd rather go to PS3 (or Vita/PSP) Games>All Games>B>Borderlands and find the full game, a demo, theme, soundtrack, and all of the add-ons in one place.
Oh, but wait, it gets better! They're STILL not giving us the ability to search/sort through our download lists!!!
I hope that means they're fixing the fact that some stuff are totally fucked up on the european PSN, like multiple languages in the same sentence in a description and preview videos with the sound all f'ed up
I prefer the bright blue background to be honest.
