Sony reveals a special PS Vita launch bundle

1/28/12 2:20pm

With the launch of the PlayStation Vita only a month away, Sony announced (via the PlayStation Blog) a limited edition $299 3G/Wi-Fi  Vita bundle that will only be available on launch day...or until the stores sell out their inventory.

This bundle will include:

  • A 3G/Wi Fi model PS Vita
  • A PlayStation Network game
  • An 8GB Memory card
  • An AT&T DataConnect Pass (good for a free 250 MB session)

But wait, there's more!

Sony also announced that those who have pre-ordered the First Edition Bundle (which they will receive a week before launch) will now get the same AT&T DataConnect Pass provided in the launch bundle and a free PSN game, as a bonus gift.

Will this new bundle result in sales figures that are less disappointing than the handheld's Japanese launch? Well, that remains to be seen. But it's great that gamers who are willing  to wait in a long ass lineup during  a cold February night will be able to take advantage of this one time deal. Oh and it's also nice that the those who pre-ordered their first editions will be getting some nifty bonus content as well.

Does this new launch bundle make the Vita a more appealing  to any of you g1s?

Even though I play games on mutli-systems but sony I have no more respect for you. One it's an over priced handheld, two it's on AT&T, and three most of my apps I can just get on my mobile phone. So what is the point of getting an over priced, crap internet provider and apps that we already have on other devices. Tell me why I should respect the Vita?

Did I miss the part where any of the games available to the Vita are available on your mobile? seriously, name them. Come on, what of the Vitas games are on your mobile?

True but are they going to be good games that will last for a long time or be thrown to the side and since the bug problems from the Japanese release had problems will the US release have the same problems? and I'm not paying 300 dollars for a wifi/3G and I know there is a wifi model only but I just got a 3DS when it came out so I'm in no way on buying a PS Vita until the cost goes down or a impressive lineup comes later.

Escape Plan lasts on average 20 hours. Warriors Lair is as long as Diablo 2. Gravity Rush supposedly has 15 hours of content. Wipeout 20148 has 70 courses and nearly 50 cups. It already has an impressive lineup.

I already purchsed one $300 handheld in the last year. I'm in no hurry to pick up the Vita.

It usually takes me a while to jump on any hand held band wagon. It took me 3 generations of PSP's before I finally got one so I'll probably be waiting on this one as well. I'll let them get the bugs worked out first. I love Uncharted and Mod Nation Racers but I think I'll wait for now.

To be on topic, free stuff for early adopters is always cool so neat. :)

They forgot to mention a shitload of bugs, and other assorted problems

You forgot there's less than 550 reported cases of any users experiencing any bugs.
