Earlier today, the folks at Sony decided to provide both gamers and the press with a closer look at the PS4’s user interface via a photo gallery.
From the looks of these photos, I’d say the new interface looks like a much brighter and more organized version of the PS3’s interface…if it were crossed with a Facebook profile. Yup. The Sony reps weren’t kidding around when they mentioned the console’s heavy focus on sharing content, cause they want you to share everything, all of the time, ever.
As mentioned during the PS4 announcement event, the console will allow players to share all kinds of stuff with their friends and followers on not only their PS4 profile but also through various social media sites as well. Stuff such as the games they’re currently playing, gameplay footage they’ve recorded, and even any Ustream hosted livestreams they may feel like filming.
I know I’ve made a few jokes about this obsession with sharing but there’s a big market for this kind of thing right now and Sony’s smart to capitalize on it.
Besides, there’s plenty of talented people out there who create content for the Internet who might be able to get some great use out of the livestreaming and video editing capabilities this interface has to offer. But I guess we’ll have to wait and see about that.

So, what do you think of this new design g1s? Do you plan on pressing the “share button”?
