Sony will be livestreaming their big announcement

2/7/13 10:00am

Last week, Sony teased a big announcement that will be going down on February 20. Now, the company has also mentioned that those who are unable to attend the meeting in New York, will be able to view it from the comfort of their home via live stream. As for the exact live stream service, Sony has yet to confirm any, but gamers should note that the big announcement will be taking place at 11:00 GMT / 6:00PM EST/ 3:00PM PST.

What exactly will the revealed at this event? Well, many rumors are starting to circulate about a fourth installment to the PlayStation home console family making an appearance, while others think a new touch screen controller is in the works. Unfortunately Sony only left us with this 45 second teaser to get our imaginations going...

So, could the next generation PlayStation be upon us come February 20? According to a report by Wall Street Journal, the PlayStation 4 will indeed be uncovered at the upcoming meeting. The report also states that the new console will incorporate more social gaming features, and that Sony will reveal it's console before Microsoft.

But what do you make of all this g1s? Do you believe the PlayStation 4 will be the spotlight of this meeting? Or will Sony throw a complete curve ball? Let me know in the comment section down below!

They will probably announce that they are dropping out of the console business.

The way I see it:

Sony this generation did a decent job. So many exclusive games, well built hardware (I still have my generation 1 PS3), and the most powerful console on the console market.

But they made some big mistakes too: Chat features, clunky PSstore, Price, complexity of the cell processor for development.

PS4 needs to not stray from what they were doing, but to fix the mistakes at the same time. PS4 needs to be lightyears ahead of the NextBox as far as capabilities go. Innovations in the next 10 years are going to be incredible, and neither Sony nor Microsoft knows what they will be, Microsoft can take a guess and say it's motion gaming, but they're dead wrong. Innovations will come in a machine that has so much power that you're free to try new things that have never been done before. Cmon Sony, don't fuck this up and talk about motion garbage, take the hardcore market back from Microsoft, Gears and Halo are dried up old granny vag's now anyways.
