Sony's S Tablet will be compatible with PS3 controllers

12/18/11 6:22pm

Sony has launched a new update for its android powered S Tablet in Japan. The update is actually cool because it allows players to use their wireless Duel Shock PS3 controllers to play games. Pretty neat eh?

It is currently unknown when this update (which is packaged with a collection of Ape Escape mini-games) will be available outside of Japan or if a similar update will be made available for the dual screen P Tablet.

Does this news make any of you android/iOS users out there in the g1 community willing to pick up a Sony Tablet? Or are you happy with your current devices?

I love new technology devices but I'm not a fan of these "big" internet tablets. If it can't fit in my pocket then I don't see the need to own it. Not to say tablets are useless, just not my cup of tea. But I will say that being able to use a PS3 controller with the tablet is a HUGE step in tablet gaming. That actually worries me since I fear it will weaken the hand held gaming market. But great step for Sony, they are one upping the competition this way and will be able to push their PS3 controllers to a new market.

A few days ago in a magazine to see so many words: Knowledge is like underwear, while others can not see, but it is very important. In fact, for people, the underwear is really important for good health. Choose a good underwear on the body can play a role in health care. Such as: Calvin Klein Underwear's calvin klein steel and calvin klein 365 series. They really are the leader in underwear. Because of their superior performance, but also to their underwear sale steadily rising. Swimming trunks are also personal clothing category. Is also critical. Choose aussieBum Swimwear, will not let you down.

I like the idea of using my PS3 controllers with a tablet, but there are already game pad peripherals on the market that you can use with ANY tablet. So this doesn't really make me want this tablet. I'm holding out/saving up for the TF-102 from ASUS (Transformer Prime). That thing is a beast of a tablet.

The one thing that is interesting about this is that it makes me wonder if Sony will be releasing a Playstation certified tablet in the future. I've been hoping for more Playstation certified devices like the Xperia Play.

So it's like REVERSE Wii-U? The tablet can use a controller instead of using the tablet as a controller. BSHHHHHHHHHHHH! (That's the sound of my mind being blown). Can you sense the sarcasm, cuz I meant it.
