The Space Invaders glitch
Did you know that the main gameplay mechanic in Space Invaders was a glitch? Today The Gamer from Mars will show you why.
That's neat to hear how a simple mistake managed to suck down so many quarters from people's pockets.
Wow! How things turn out to be... Hope to see more videos.
All of the other glitch shows try to see if it's real. I find ones already proven and explain why it happens.
Thats awesome I totally didn't know that. I think this is a pretty good idea for a show, its been done before but that doesn't make it bad.
I'm not sure you're looking at that the right way. From what you're saying It wouldn't have been a "glitch" at all, if the computer had a better processor.
Would you call playing a game (Let us say Gary's mod) where you add more and more objects in an area, putting strain on a processor, or removing said objects putting less strain on the processor and having it run faster a "glitch"?
"A glitch is a short-lived fault in a system", in this case the system is the software program being Space Invaders, the software relies upon the Hardware to process the calculations which is an entirely different system. However there isn't a fault in the game, nor the hardware, it's just the simple fact the processor could not keep up by the strain of having to process the multiple objects on the screen.
My mind has been blown. BOOM
Not sure if your being sarcastic...
oh I'm fully aware the author won't see it. he probably doesn't even know it's embedded in SA. I just wanted to call him bland.
I like how people post crap as if the author will never see it.
Fascinating...here I expected the whole shoot through the shield thing. Never expected this.
One glitch idea would be how Street Fighter's combo system was a glitch at first.
Interesting how things sometimes turn out.
That makes alot of sense. Good job.
that's cool. this guy was a snooze.
Hah! That's actually very clever of them to utilize the glitch to make the game more exciting. Cool!
ssbm is competitive because of odd programing which lets the game be played at a faster pace if you know how to exploit it.
You got my subscription. Great idea for a series and I never even knew that. The only other glitch I could think of is the Minus world of SMB1.
