Spectrum - Development Update

Hey guys, Terra here 

Wow. I forgot we actually had this site to show off what we’ve been getting up to. Oh dear….

Where to start…

We’re hopefully going to be submitting Spectrum to the upcoming Irish Indie Bundle due for release sometime in September. This means that our deadline for completion is August 24th... No pressure… This is actually really exciting for us as, well, we’re a student team!! This is probably one of the first games most of us have worked on and for it to go to commercial release!? Holy cow!

Onto the progress of the game then….

We’ve got some cool ideas for the new version of Spectrum mainly based off of the build we showed at Games Fleadh. We’ll be pushing the survival aspect of the game to the maximum, be including bosses, powerups and much more. We’ve promoted our concept artist to lead artist so that we can get the visual aspect of the game to a point where we can be happy with it... so expect some nice new concept sketches here in the coming weeks. 

We’ve also been messing around with the kind of sound and music we want the game to incorporate. Our goal is for Spectrum’s gameplay to be fast paced and frantic so we want the soundtrack to reflect this feeling. We’ve come up with a few samples for y’all to listen to so you can judge if the direction we’re going is a good one.

Other than that it’s just business as usual. We’ll keep you all posted here on this blog so be sure to give us a follow, as we’re sure you’re all going to enjoy the hell out of Spectrum ^^
