Spike to reveal new Alan Wake at VGAs

11/4/11 12:40pm

It looks like we may know more about the new Alan Wake coming to XBLA when Spike hosts the VGAs on December 10th. Already confirmed via the Alan Wake Facebook page, it would appear that this is not necessarily the proper sequel fans might be hoping for. Instead, it could be a spin-off of the in game show Night Springs. All we know for sure is that the title will be downloadable on XBLA and has the user become the "Champion of Light".

Additionally, Geoff Keighly has been building up a hype wagon for the upcoming show. While we have received word that Alan Wake, Metal Gear Solid Rising, and a new Bioware studio will all have exclusive reveals. There will certainly be a few other surprises that we don't currently know about. Some of these teases have also been shared with Game Informer, but I would keep an eye out, as we get closer to December 10th. That MGS Rising rumor is looking like it may become a reality.

This is pure awesome! I really enjoyed the first game, even though its gameplay became too repetitive as it went on. Really solid and intriguing story though. Here's hoping this arcade title is successful enough to warrant a proper sequel.
