Square-Enix to release a PC browser based Kingdom Hearts Game

2/24/13 12:20pm

Editor's Note: FYI: Those who purchase Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix directly from Square Enix will receive a Riku card along with 10 potions and 10 ethers. Oh and draw points are meant to be traded for additional cards to use in battle, while munny is used to synthesize them. Potions are used to regain lost health and ethers recover power for combat.

Square-Enix has been hinting at for a long time that a PC Version of Kingdom Hearts is in the works and today thanks to Famitsu, we know the details about the game.

The browser based, free-to-play game is called Kingdom Hearts X (Chi), although you control your own character, the one thing that's still a mystery is if you create your own character for a unique story or if the game is canon?

Why I say this for three reasons. One: the game celebrates the 10th Anniversary of Kingdom Hearts (I thought Dream Drop Distance did that). Two: everyone is able to travel to various if not a ton of worlds in the series (hinting it's the first Keyblade War). Three: the game uses some kind of card based combat system,we don't have no idea what it consists of.

Other than that the game has micro-transactions, it has both free and paid items and well I can only imagine they're all based on cards. Square Enix has confirmed Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix will contain a code for a Rare+Sora Card (the only hint as to how the card combat works), 20,000 munny and 4,000 card draw points.....whatever those are.

I was hoping this game would be a little bit more exciting from details I had known for awhile, but this kinda saddens me especially. What are g1s thoughts on this new Kingdom Hearts Game?

Guess what: Whining about KH3 isn't going to make it come faster. It never has. It never will. Stop wasting your typing energy, and it'll only be your fault when you get lost in the story for it because you refused to look at the side games.

If there is one thing I don't like seeing in Kingdom Hearts is card based battling. It really does take away from the hack n' slash that the game started with and adds an element to the game that isn't needed at all.

Didn't like the system in CoM and I'm thinking I', not going to like it here.

Sqaure Enix can go fuck off with this whole free 2 play browser game bullshit. I don't know why they release this, it just pisses off their fans. And no one will play it. Looks at Capcom and Megaman Xover, just another crap mediocre cash in.

After FF: All the Bravest I'd be terrified to how S-E plans to attempt (and hopefully fail miserably) to rape our wallets with the microtransactions of this.

Wow, look at all the comments saying please give us KH3. Did you play any of the other games? They're all legitimate parts of the story guys.

On a side note, if this plays similar to CoM i'd probably play it alot.

Couldn't care less. Until KH13 is out, I don't care about Square Enix.

That is shallow and sad.

To be fair with stuff like this it doesn't seem like Square Enix cares about the fans much.

A new Kingdom Hearts ga- oh it's a online browser game. Square-Enix, go work on FF Versus XIII so that you'll give us Kingdom Hearts III already.
