It's rather interesting to think that combos were glitches. The only thing I have against combos is if they are far too broken or if they are the "perfect" combo. ....You know what I'm talking about....

I, I... I-I I dont get this. I even watched some of his vids in his channel. How to beat super mario bros., the origin of gaming was supposed to be in 1947, old games reviews, the lavender town theory and the space invaders glitch. Do we really even care? Is he "captain obvious useless facts no one really care" gameoverthinker version?

I already knew that but it still feels a bit bizarre to tink how much one unintended glitch has affected gaming.
Well I don't believe this because he doesn't have anything to prove this, he has no evidence to back this up.If I tell you sonic was created because one of interns in Sega accidentally pressed fast forward button and kept that in the game, would you believe that?
well i'm pretty sure that combo would come to be later on it's just that it wasn't planned right now if you look at mortal kombat it's kinda the same
Well, if you wanna get really technical, when the R sound is at the beginning of a word or name, the r sound comes from deeper in the throat more htan a normal R sound would. Its hard to type about, but it would almost sound like an odd mix between an R, U, and W, like a yoshi sound effect from mario party somewhat
I see your point. I almost like Tatsunoko vs Capcom better than MvC3 because TVC had the mega crash system. Of course Capcom won't integrate a mechanic like that into MvC because the competitive scene would get very pissed off.
oddly, the video doesn't seem to show any real combos. Like it has low level ones, but the programmers new you would be able to chain a kick into a punch and what not. It was things like move buffering that they did not predict.
And like some other people, while I think combos are really cool I think they can hurt a game. If a game is too combo focused it can a) be overly handicapped against the less experienced player and b) can be really swingy in more even matches.

Um. Combos are not glitches. The metagame is never exactly what any developer envisions. Players will discover and invent strong techniques of their own that the developers never thought of. If metagame is a glitch, then every fighting game is bugged beyond belief.

The whole game is based around a glitch, without doing the glitch the game is boring as shit. With the glitch, it formed different types of gameplay styles and techniques. Every technique is a combination of slash, shoot, jump, dash, block and switch weapon. There are techniques that use about 12 moves in the space of one jump. It is the same as this glitch really, except requires a thousand times more moves and more speed.

I'm pretty much there with you. When a game has small string combos, or it at least lets there be a whole lot of back and forth, a fighting game is pretty good and intense. Games like MvC3, though, do feel like one wrong move out of time and you lose a character. Might as well play with the controller disconnected on those.
