Capcom will develop Street Fighter V for Xbox One and PlayStation 4, according to Sponichi Annex.

According to the online portal for the Sports Nippon Japanese publication, Capcom president and COO Haruhiro Tsujimoto said the company plans to develop a new Street Fighter that would fully utilize online capabilities and make the game more accessible for new players.

“We'd like to steer away from making the next game such that skilled players will win, but unskilled players will lose almost instantaneously,” Tsujimoto said.

One idea to achieve this goal is the ability for new players to spectate matches between high-ranked players in-game, allowing beginners to learn strategies and become better players.

To be clear, Street Fighter V is not in development. It is in the idea stage at the moment.

With the release of Ultra Street Fighter IV, the latest update for the 2009 fighter Street Fighter IV, some fans are growing impatient and wondering when the next installment in the series will come. While the answer is “no time soon,” this may give fans something to look forward to in the future.
