Team 17 will revive Superfrog!
Superfrog HD coming to PS3 and Vita later this year.
Earlier today Team 17 took to the PlayStation Blog to announce another game from their archives (the original Alien Breed was recently released on PSN) was to be released soon. That game is the Amiga classic Superfrog which came out in 1993 on the Amiga and then ported to the PC in '94.
Now a lot of you are probably thinking, "What the hell is Superfrog?" Well I'm here to answer that! Superfrog is a 2D scrolling platformer similar to the likes of Mario and Sonic that features a frog who likes to drink Lucozade. Since his first and only game however Superfrog has never been revisited he has made a few cameos being playable in Worms Blast and having a hat for him in Worms Reloaded.
That is until today as Team 17 have announced that Superfrog HD will be coming to the Vita and PS3 later this year with all new graphics Managing Director, Debbie Bestwick said this in conjunction with the announcement:
Then they gave away a sneak peak of how Superfrog has changed over the years (seen above) and left it at that. I'm very excited about this as I spent much of my youth playing Amiga games and Superfrog is one of my favorites but is there anyone else who is excited by this news?

I loved Superfrog when I was a kid! I recently picked it up at GOG and even customised a fight stick so I could have play it using a joystick. Here's hoping for a PC release of the updated game.
