Team Meat says Mew-Genics will be released on Steam

2/2/13 10:14pm

It’s been a few weeks since we last reported on the development of Team Meat’s next project Mew-Genics and since then there’s been talks of cat shows, cat races, freezing tubes, an in-game postal service, and even of a few subtle musical teases. Well, on this fine Caturday, co-developer Edmund McMillen has announced the second platform in which Mew-Genics will be available.

Besides the iOS release, gamers will also have the option to download Mew-Genics to their PC via Steam.

Other than that there isn’t too much to report about this week’s update except for McMillen saying the game has been in development for 18 weeks and the news of this being the third to last weekly update.

The last bit of news makes me kind of sad but McMillen provides a good reason for why this must be the case:

“We will only do 2 more Caturday teasers after this then pull back and focus on getting the game done as well as officially announcing what the game actually is and how it plays.”

My fingers are crossed for one of the final two updates to contain a 3DS or 360 announcement.

Speaking of which in another type of form. Whatever happened to Battleblock Theater? Been a damn long time since we heard news about that game.
