Team Meat's Super Meat Boy follow up Mew-Genics is about cats … kinda

10/20/12 7:00pm

In an announcement that has come completely out of left field, Edmond McMillen announced on the official Team Meat blog that he and Tommy Refenes (the other half of Team Meat) are currently developing a follow up to Super Meat Boy

About a month ago, the dynamic indie duo took a break from the development of the iOS Meat Boy game, to indulge themselves in a weekend-long jam session and the unexpected evolution of that session is Mew-Genics, a game about cats … kinda.

While he didn’t share too many details about the game, McMillen did say Mew-Genics will have random-generated levels and that it’s the strangest game he’s ever worked on. And remember this is the guy who created The Binding of Isaac

He also said we can expect an announcement regarding platforms, as well as a few screenshots soon.

I’ll go out on a limb and guess that the cats are mutants of some kind and…and…and…that’s all I got. What do you think we can expect to see in Mew-Genics g1s?
