There will be no Super Street Fighter X Tekken
During a discussion with Gamasutra, Street Fighter producer Yoshinori Ono said something that many Capcom and fighting game fans have been wanting to hear for a while now, which is the fact that there will be retail update for Street Fighter X Tekken.
"I would say that you don't really need to worry about a new version of the game coming out. If we choose to update the game, it will be done in the same fashion as Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition."
While, this means that we won't be seeing a full retail overhaul like Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3, updates for the game released as discounted DLC pack like Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition is still very likely, which is as it should be. Does this mean that we are about to enter a new golden age, where gamers can buy a Capcom fighter with the confidence that they are buying the definitive retail version? Probably not. But that's not going to stop me from basking in the glory of this announcement for just a while longer.
Oh and he also said that the game will be using a brand-new netcode, rather than recycling the codes from UMvC3 or SSFIV: AE, but what improvements that this new code will bring is still a secret at this time. As long as it improves the gameplay, I'm all for it!
Tekken X Street Fighter is a completely different game with it's own artstyle, gameplay style, and roster. SFXT will be a 2D fighter in the vein of Street Fighter, while TXSF will be (as you said) developed by Namco and will be a 3D fighter made to play like a Tekken game and the story will and art will reflect the Tekken series as well. I hope that clears things up a bit.
No, seriously there IS a game called Tekken X Street Fighter and it will be developed by Namco. Check the initial press releases for Street Fighter X Tekken, they said it then that they would be making one. Whether it's announced the day after or four months later like Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 you know it's coming...
I will believe this when it happened. They said the same thing about Marvel vs Capcom 3. The promised the character balanced and spectator mode through DLC. They lied. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
it won't be called super street fighter x tekken, it will be more like super hyper turbo street fighter x tekkenV2.872 edition
There's not going to be a new version of the game... Let's see who is making it... Oh Capcom. Just like they said there wouldn't be a new version of SF4 or MvC3. So when they say something just be wary of the knife hidden in their other hand.
soooo... When is Tekken X Street Fighter coming?
I'm sure this is solely because Namco is in it too.
And I believe dear sir I have a bridge to sell you.
I will believe it when I don't see it.
Lies, Ono. LIES!
IT'S A TRAP. they said the same this in MvC3 and after 5 months they announced UMvC3 as stand alone game (after cancelling MEGAMAN LEGENDS 3, YOU BASTARDS)so in other word don't believe them.
I hope they release a hell of a lot of DLC then. Somehow, i'm never satisfied with any fighting game's roster when it's first released.
Yeah, not buying it. Neither the game nor the bullshit.
Its actually gunna be 'Hyper Street fighter X Tekken' or 'Street Fighter X Tekken Turbo', we're just not sure on a prefix or a suffix for the title...
I won't believe anything Capcom says until they bring back Mega Man!
Honestly, I don't believe them. I really hope this is true but I'm still gonna wait quite a while before I pick the game up just to be sure. And no, I honestly don't buy into the tsunami excuse for UMvC3.
Thank you, Capcom.
Also, it's worth noting that making a new Street Fighter X Tekken can bleed into the attention that Tekken X Street Fighter is going to receive, which can set off Capcom on the wrong foot with Namco, considering how Namco said Tekken X Street Fighter will be revealed as soon as Street Fighter X Tekken is released.
I love all the random stuff people are just posting out of their butt's. Tekken X Capcom is being developed by Namco, NOT Capcom. The plans with MvC3 released DLC were ruined due to the Tsunami in Japan recently. So...instead, you are getting a completely buffed up version (in just about every way) for a lot less than all the DLC would have originally cost.....
And, no one is forcing ANYONE to buy the DLC to begin with so I don't see why everyone is foaming at the mouth in hatred for Capcom. Ok, so maybe the costumes or whatever might have been included in the game before, but I don't see NEARLY as many people raging about new maps....or....new modes....or new weapons or anything as much as people just rag on Capcom. Also, it's a business, and if you worked for one of those companies, I'm sure you'd try to make as much money as you could.
I'll believe Capcom this time. UMVC3 was never meant to happen, but of course that changed after the disaster that Japan suffered.
