There will be no Super Street Fighter X Tekken

During a discussion with Gamasutra, Street Fighter producer Yoshinori Ono said something that many Capcom and fighting game fans have been wanting to hear for a while now, which is the fact that there will be retail update for Street Fighter X Tekken.

"I would say that you don't really need to worry about a new version of the game coming out. If we choose to update the game, it will be done in the same fashion as Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition."

While, this means that we won't be seeing a full retail overhaul like Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3, updates for the game released as discounted DLC pack like Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition is still very likely, which is as it should be. Does this mean that we are about to enter a new golden age, where gamers can buy a Capcom fighter with the confidence that they are buying the definitive retail version? Probably not. But that's not going to stop me from basking in the glory of this announcement for just a while longer.

Oh and he also said that the game will be using a brand-new netcode, rather than recycling the codes from UMvC3 or SSFIV: AE, but what improvements that this new code will bring is still a secret at this time. As long as it improves the gameplay, I'm all for it!
