Top Ten Ways to Improve/Change the Zelda series
This isn't Morocco, watch the video
A lot of those things sound like great ideas. Personally, I would wish that it would give you more options---such as difficulty and subtitles and such like you said. Also, some side quests would be great too. Thanks Terra!
Right? The first time I ran into a Giant Octorock in the ocean I was like... WHAT!?!?
Then after I got the boomerang I vowed to hunt them all down.... followed by exploring every island in the ocean why fending off sharks and other such badies at sea. Then there were the submarines, the haunted ship... the ocean was great.
I seriously don't get why people don't like exploring in Zelda games. Winder Waker gets bashed, as does Skyward Sword.
While not actually multiplayer a basic idea of using multiple 'people' was used in Majora's Mask with the Elegy of Emptiness in Stone Tower Temple. If Nintendo could reuse that idea for future Zelda games with real multiplayer it would be a Zelda fanboys dream game.
I really enjoyed the ocean. It added a sense of exploration and was generally likable on a whole. Plus there were lots of various random events that would occur while sailing.
What's wrong with four swords? Well lets see... you had to memorize all of the freaking buttons to position the other three links, there was an actual sword that split link into four and made him change colors, a lot of stuff in the game didnt make a lot of sense, and you had to use a freaking gba if you wanted mutiplayer....and you had to buy some other crap to use it and two others if you wanted all four players. Way to money grab your fans!!
Try to find your own style, and don't try to copy Egoraptor or Jontron. Find out what works best for you.
As for the video, i could get into the reasons you mentioned, but the bottomline remains: the series needs to change. Like, a complete overhaul. It's what i have been saying ever since i first played Wind Waker.
The Legend of Zelda games are great. All of them. Because they are all alike ever since Ocarina of Time. And that's a bad thing. I'd take another Zelda 2 just for the fact that i would be playing and PAYING for a different game that simply did not have an visual upgrade.
the won't give zelda ta another studio, they said they could not do that since they love working with it too much.
I wish they would make another Zelda 2 side scroller or something that was at least a little challenging. In my opinion, the old formula has been stale for about 15 years now and like you said it is time to hand the franchise over to a company that knows what they are doing. Nice video, bottle up some of that energy and send it my way plzz
Same here! Once I had found the Warping Song, I just teleported to fill the map up. And that requires dedication.
I didn't mind Fi's AI like personality... only i wish it wouldn't keep pointing out objects of interest that were clearly shown in the cut scene 20 seconds beforehand!!!! /annoying, it seems to be less intrusive half way through the game though ^^;; (didn't mind the motion controls, better then TP's, always on a keyboard+mouse/normal controller so ye) ...full MP would be stupid (unless like 4 swords and for 3DS), but i think your on right track with being like demon/dark souls, just imagion the other player showing up as shadow link and fighting you :D
Ill just skip to number one and agree. Retro please!
Agreed, I LIKE SIDE KICKS!!! Until they get annoying . __.
The only thing they need to do is get rid of motion controls! =P
Come on dude, everyone should know by now that the big Retro Studios game that everyone wants them to make is gonna be a Starfox Game, but hey, if it turns out that they ARE making a Zelda game... I'll actually be pretty pissed, because WHY HASN'T THERE BEEN A STARFOX GAME IN FOREVER?!?!
what was wrong with 4 swords adventure for the GC the game was eventually 4 swords but the multiplayer was optional
Multi-player as long as its co-op. Have a second version of the dungeons to make it fun for the two players. Zelda should never have versus multiplayer. The motion controls and the birds put me off of Skyward Sword, I could live with Fi and the excessive tutorials. The rest is more personal choices, but some are better than others.
Wow, the ScrewAttack Community's accommodating nature sure has changed.
Regardless thanks for the feedback all :D
I personally enjoyed the motion controls. Once you got used to them, they worked well. And of course they're not gonna work if your swinging your arm like a nut. They could've added to the spin attack by holding the A button while swinging the chuk and mote because it would do it when I didn't want it to, but nothing TOO serious.
I wanna back hand this kid. However, I agree with better side-quests and side kicks. I mean, you can have partners, just make them less annoying. And one major change is when you turn off and on the game, stop telling us what item we got! WE KNOW!!! AND STOP OPENING THE ITEMS SCREEN SHOWING US WHERE IT GOES!!! 100% of players hated that. Exploration like in TP was good because you had a warp system. Made it less tedious.
Am I the only person that didn't mind exploring the ocean with the King of Red Lions?
I actually kind of enjoyed it.
