Ubisoft has revealed that Rayman Legends is delayed so it can go multiplatform
More and more games are being delayed on Wii U, but this time, it’s a big one. Ubisoft has revealed that the team behind the Wii U version of Rayman Legends will now be porting it to PS3 and Xbox 360 as well. But that means the game has been delayed until September of this 2013. Tony Key, senior VP of sales and marketing had this to say about the decision
I’m sure this is the best thing for both Ubisoft and the Rayman franchise, but for Wii U owners… This is basically a swift kick in the balls. I don’t know how other Wii U owners feel about a game being delayed for over 7 months and loosing exclusivity, but I am kind of pissed right now.

People shouldn't be that upset at the lack of exclusivity, although the seven month delay I can certainly understand the hate for.

It's okay Rayman fans... at E3 this year you will just find another delay on this game because they want to bring it to the next gen consoles. Just saiyan ahead of time, I called it.
Mr Popo
Well this makes sense. They delayed the release for Assassin's Creed 3 on all consoles for the Wii U, right?..... right?..... oh.....

I don't understand not bringing it to Wii U now. I have literally nothing to play on my new console at the moment and that Demo they put out made me excited for this. Now it is gone even though the Wii U version is literally already done.

Sadly this is the fault of Microsoft who have a really crappy policy of forcing publishers to release their multiplatform games for all systems at the same time. Had it not been for that, then its pretty much certain that Ubisoft would've released it.
ThePortlandian
I would still point the finger at Ubisoft as they could have released the game for the Wii U and then decide to go multiplatform, like Ninja Gaiden 3 Razor's Edge.

Yeah, I guess that could have been a way around Microsoft's crappy policy...but there's no turning back now, otherwise Microsoft won't let them release it on their console.
It's funny how the original sold more on the Wii and sold less on the X360...Microsoft can go screw its conceited-self for all the bs they've been pulling on 3rd party developers this gen.
Besides, relesasing this game in September is going to be suicide...when so many AAA titles come out (GTAV) around that time. They have to make money now, with nothing amazing coming out for a while....especially for the Wii U.
It's going to be a financial disaster!

True.

I can understand porting it to other systems, but holding back the finished Wii U version because of it is a low blow.
