Ubisoft is holding ACIII trailer hostage for 1,776,000 Facebook posts
Editor's Note: I went ahead and added the trailer below. Kind of sick that we are all Liking and posting on Facebook for the sole purpose of watching that Redcoat get brutally mudered.
Something I'll agree with Kotaku here...this is kind of depressing, for those that have "Liked" Assassin’s Creed on Facebook before. Now, Ubisoft has decided it was a good idea to lock a new trailer and in order to unlock the Trailer (which is a really bad idea) people on Facebook have to post 1,766,000 times. Yeah, on a full trailer that some have already seen a glimpse of it… this is a dick move Ubisoft.
What do g1s think of this? Do you have the same feelings as I do of this being a dick move?

He more than likely didn't. People are just looking for any reason to jump onto good developer's asses.

Ubisoft is a good developer (save for the intrusive and broken DRM), but this facebook campaign is pretentious as all hell. Just release the trailer.

Oh boo frickety hoo. It's just advertisement. Cry about it.

Lame... unlocking a trailer? How low are we going?

I'm a web developer building this feature into a premium cable station's website, I cannot say who. It's becoming a common feature request called "flock to unlock". Personally, I agree with you guys. It's lame and just holds content hostage until the content creator is happy with the traffic they wanted. This type of content is all part of "gamification", a term everyone is using in advertising to add in gaming feature to ordinary websites. Ubisoft probably see's this as a way to add gaming into their marketing campaigns.

Fuck you, Ubisoft.

assasins creed sucks and so does ubisoft. I wouldn't give them a cent after the drm issues.

Saying all the Assassins Creed games suck is a bit of a stretch. :/

I was referring to the brand. I had a great time playing the first one.
