[UPDATE] E3 may be leaving the LA area next year
UPDATE: If the convention takes its show on the road, Los Angeles could potentially miss out on another $40-million dollar revenue gain, as seen from this year's E3. That figure is due to the reported 47-thousand industry attendees, and nearly 30-thousand hotel bookings.
ORIGINAL POST: E3 has been considered a staple event for the Los Angeles Convention Center since the annual tradeshow’s creation back in 1995. Now it seems that this longstanding relationship may be coming to an end.
Entertainment Software Association president Michael Gallagher told The LA Times that the ESA is currently considering moving the show to a new venue in 2013.
When asked about the reason for this possible decision, Gallagher said (much like last year’s football stadium debacle) this situation is due to an issue the association has with the proposed construction at the LACC. If the issue isn’t resolved, The ESA will have to take the event elsewhere.
Which city could become the new home for E3? Executives close to the ESA told The Times that San Francisco, Chicago, New Orleans, and New York are currently the top choices.
I know the show has been held outside of LA before (97/98 in Atlanta and 2007 in Santa Monica) but after hosting 15 E3s, the LACC has become a bit of an iconic structure among the gaming community and I’m sure there’ll be plenty of gamers who’ll be saddened by this decision.
What do you think g1s? Do think holding E3 at the LACC is a sacred tradition to be upheld? Or do you think the show is in need of a new setting? If so, where should E3's new home be?

TechCrunch has a rundown on how Google pulled off the stunt. Despite the physical risk to the athletes, the company needed to pull a few strings in order to make moncler online the demo happen. One of them was to negotiate with FAA offices in Oakland, San Jose and Washington so that the zeppelin could release its cargo.According to the moncler outlet report, the airspace 4,000 above San Francisco is classified as Class B airspace. That means pilots need permission to fly in that zone, yet clearance is easy and moncler routinely obtained by simply talking to air traffic control. The problem was that zeppelin airships are not allowed to open a door during flight. To make the Google moncler coats demonstration happen, the FAA had to add new rules to the operating manual for zeppelins so the skydivers could open the door and take a flying leap. http://www.monclercoatsoutletonline.net/
yes, but im just saying that NYC is a big one too.
lol ikr? I can't afford to travel that much
True but isn't San Diego Comic-Con like the main one?
Are you sure about that? I thought you could get access to the show floor if you paid some sort of admission price. If it was just open to the press, there wouldn't be nearly as many people there. The press conferences are closed to the public, but why would the show floor be?
It'd be awesome to see it held in San Francisco.
Well ok I just looked at the LACC Brochure and it says it has 720 000 square feet of space, so if anyone knows a center larger than that you're more than welcome to post it here :P
An event of this level should not have a "Home". Every year should be held in a different city. Spread the love.
Wuz going on? Poor baby is jealous of ScrewAttack'`s success? Oh that's so sweet! Now you go and run a videogame website as sucessful and THEN you talk! Ok cya sucka!
I say bring it back to Atlanta! The Georgia World Congress Center is more than big enough.
They should move it to Vancouver. I don't have a good reason. It's purely just selfish wishing.
Where ever they host it is good for me. I was able to watch all E3 coverage on my xbox360 and IGN app. I got to see my buddy Destin on IGN do a live stream of E3. He has truly expanded his career by leaving Screwattack for IGN. Way to go Destin!
I wonder where the rest of the Screwattack crew are. I have not seen anyone else since they left the website. Why don't they ever stop by and leave a post or a video to say hi to the g1 community. Something is weird here. I know MoneyBags Craig is all smiles but why don't they want to associate with MoneyBags after they leave? Oh well just a thought
If it comes to Chicago idk how but I will find a way in.
So long as I get my news, I don't care where it's hosted.
Minneapolis, Minnesota(never going to happen) :3
How about Houston or Dallas?
Chicago would be awesome, maybe i could get in next year since ill be out there.
But there is more then one comic con...
