[UPDATE] Minecraft 1.9 pre-release has dropped

Posted on September 22, 2011 - 1:40pm by Sean Hinz

Notch's team has gone and dropped the latest update to Minecraft a little early. Jens Bergensten of Team Mojang, tweeted the release on Twitter today, with a corresponding link. While this "leaked" update is coming from the team, know that it will still be a bit buggy. Think of it as an opportunity to do a little QA for Team Mojang.

The new update will be bringing all sorts of additions, that will continue to prepare for the "Adventure" content coming later this year. Included in the update are things like: snowmen, new exploration elements, boss monsters, and the elusive mushroom cow.  Look how ornery he seems! MOOOOO!

Remember to get into the game now and save 25% off the cost. Otherwise, you will be paying full price when the game officially releases in November.

UPDATE - As Gliffie said in the comments "I would like to plug the MineAttack server: ScrewAttack's most popular (and only) minecraft server. We are running 1.8.1 at the moment. IP:"
