Update: Scott Pilgrim online multiplayer DLC NOT canceled
Update: According to a Tweet from Scott Pilgrim creator Brian O'Malley this rumor is not true."There’s a rumor going around that the Scott Pilgrim video game DLC from Ubisoft has been cancelled. Status: FALSE". So it looks to be back on, though Ubisoft has yet to officially respond to the rumor. Anyone still pining for this?
After receiving Knives Chao in the last DLC update, fans couldn't wait for the retro beat em' up's next DLC pack, which was set to arrive this fall and include Scott's roommate Wallace Wells, as well as online multiplayer. However, it looks as though that might not be happening anytime soon.
According to Hardcore Gamer, publisher/developer Ubisoft sent one fan the following message after asking for when the DLC will be released...
This is really awesome. I'm glad that the game was not cancelled. This is indeed, a good news to me. - Brenda Lee Reed
That sucks. I would have loved to get another character to have an excuse to replay the game again.
They added the DLC trophies to the server for the PS3 version, so now, my Scott Pilgrim is stuck at 85% when it was at 100%. Come on Ubi, get your shit together.
I always thought of it as a throwback to the old SNES and Genesis days of gaming. It makes sense when viewed with that in mind, but in today's world of gaming, having no online multiplayer from the start was a very bad choice.
I really want this DLC.
I'm still looking forward to this, and I bought the game day one (Well, day one for the 360, at least). Glad to hear it's not cancelled, but do we know when it's going to be released?
Exactly! I want to have his adopted babies.
If they re-release it on steam then, yeah do it!
But more importantly it needs more Wallace Wells.
I just bought this game too, so I hope it comes out soon
I enjoyed this game with my friends on the couch. I don't really have any reason to play this game online. Though it should have had the option for online play in the beggining.
It sounds like they intentionally left room to have a spot to plug in some netcode but it was dropped to have it release in time for the movie.
I still wonder why online multiplayer wasn't part of the main game.
Either someone at Ubisoft is trolling or their will be hell to pay....This game needs Online Multiplayer dammit!
