Valve wants to be EA's friend

8/18/11 2:48pm

Valve recognizes that EA pulling games off Steam is bad for business, but they aren't mad. In fact, Gabe Newell acknowledges that it is their responsibility to get EA back. While having an interview with Develop he was quoted saying:

"We have to show EA it’s a smart decision to have EA games on Steam, and we’re going to try to show them that... I think at the end of the day we’re going to prove to Electronic Arts they have happier customers, a higher quality service, and will make more money if they have their titles on Steam. It’s our duty to demonstrate that to them. We don’t have a natural right to publish their games."

A few titles like Crysis 2 and Dragon Age 2, have both been taken off Steam due to its DLC policy. Also, EA at this time has confirmed that they will not be offering Battlefield 3 on Steam. Hopefully they can work things out before this fall.

Does anybody else wish that Hell would freeze over so EA and Activision would file a Chapter 11? Or gamers could just say "fuck you" to them and not buy their games...oh wait, that's the same thing as Hell freezing over, my bad.
