Vintage Say Hello To: Loopy
Editor's Note: How bizarre that anyone would build a gender specific console? Or build a console with a single controller port?! Most console developers having been getting that latter part right since Pong. Still they might have been on to something with the sticker printer. Walk into any Japanese arcade and you will see why.

Either a very annoying voice, or a fake-ass accent, ugh.

There is a long way to go until games start targeting women? Really?
I guess I just imagined all of the female fanbases of oh so many games. . . and salescharts of the nintendo 3DS, as a console that haven't even had a year since release.
As long as there are Beat-em-ups and FPS games, there will be Cooking mama and dating sims. But that's personal preferrence, not gender based.
And as Gaijin Goomba mentioned gender roles, as long as people stick to the "formula" that guys and girls have different taste depending on gender rather than personal taste, then people will always say that there isn't "enough" of it targeted at that specific group.
But I can agree on the fact that games that are pure fanservice, are majorly tagetting the male audience. . . Two words; Jiggle Physics.

I firmly believe that female gamers don't need games or a console that is specifically targeted to them, because all it does is try to re-establish gender roles which are pretty contrary to who gamer girls are. They like games for the same reason male gamers like them: Good plots, interesting characters, and fun gameplay. I would know, I'm engaged to one who tells me this all the freaking time. XD

I wonder if part of the reason for there being no real focus on female gamers has to do with a cultural thing. The major video game hardware makers, with the most notable exception of Microsoft, are largely Japanese, who don't entirely have the same viewpoint as the West does when it comes to gender equality.

How many random consoles are THERE?? In other news, I liked this vid a lot and I laughed a little when you said that there were no games worth playing.

i've made almost 90 episodes so far...and there are still more.
Sven
Wow, do you really have almost 90 episodes? I've only seen like... 3, haha. I'll have to go watch the rest!
tricobalt
Casio!? They make watches and calculators not game consoles! What were they thinking?!
Sven
Wow, this system looks kinda awful, lol. No wonder it never left Japan AND died in less than a year. Hilarious though =P
