Vita TV sells out on Amazon Japan in the first 24 hours
Yesterday we reported on the announcement of Sony's new micro console the Vita TV. Well after 24 hours, it has completely sold out of pre-orders in both the console and the bundle on Amazon Japan. Which is completely insane considering we had no idea this was even a thing before last night. It's already grabbing developer interest as well.
Wayforward who recently launched a kickstarter campaign for their original I.P. Shantae, has decided to port their engine to vita so that it can be used on the Vita TV. Increasing the possibility of seeing Ducktales: Remastered on Vita in the future. If you'd like to contribute to the Shantae Kickstarter, you can do so here.
Pretty sure with those numbers, the Vita TV should be released worldwide sooner than later.
Well they've confirmed that Dualshock 4 will work with Vita TV after PS4's Japanese launch, so that can be their workaround.
its does you can also complement the vita if you already have it, for example, take out your vita card and i assume continue playing it on vitatv and vice-versa, play on vitatv with your DS3 or DS4, or use the Vita as somethhing like the WiiU controller, theres those issues with vita games and the touchscreen but if they can find a workaround this will be a pretty great system at a really low price point
I with you man. even if it fails, hats off to Sony for at least tying to innovate and give the players more options. At the very least this shows there commitment to the PSV, which is great for people who own the system and I'm sure can't help but feel a bit disappointed to date.
so Sony has successfully made their version of a super gameboy for the ps4 for half the price of a vita no wonder it sold out.
I think it's good of Sony to be giving us choices. Hopefully, this means Vita gets better across the board support than the PSP did (I foresee the TV doing better than the PSP Go at least).
If what you said is true then I will definitely be getting one in the future. I have had way too many bad experiences with breaking handhelds and 70% of them weren't even my fault.
I have also sold out of every PSV-TV I was selling. But that's kinda meaningless without some idea of how many I had to sell (hint: 0).
Also the Ouya sold out even after like a billion people bought it directly from Kick Starter, yet it's not really holding up as a Micro console success story.
Still, keep the news coming; this is one to watch and will be hard to call until all the cards are on the table. Although I'm personally betting on it failing less then the PSV but more then the PSP
I may actually get one since it's cheaper than the Vita (from what I can tell).
From what I know about this, it allows you to play Vita games on your TV with a PS3 controller. If thats true then this is a great product from Sony. I'm not a big fan of handheld gaming but being able to play those games with a PS3 controller on my TV makes them much more appealing.
I'm kinda not surprised.
