WarZ's Closed Beta starts this Halloween
As someone who never played Daisy (<-intentional) since I don't like paying for things I can't put on my shelf, I signed up for the upcoming F2P alternative WarZ quite some time ago. This just came in via email.
WarZ is an "online, multiplayer, survival-simulation game", that's also a Sandbox, and has Zombies in it. I know, sounds familiar, right?
Normally I'm not the copy/paste kind of guy, but I don't think I have to comment much on what you're about to read.
Now that these pictures said more than a thousand words, I wanna hear you g1s:
How hard did you laugh at the pricing? Or do you find it reasonable to pay that much for something you lose when you die? And if so, could you say it with a straight face?
Or better yet, do you even care for something that's pretty much ripping off Daisy and Max Brooks at the same time?
Nonetheless, the game is F2P, which is something that always should be supported in one way or another, even if it's just by checking out their homepage., since Hammerpoint Interactive certainly are putting a lot of effort into everything. Except for the name. Nobody will ever remember the "The".
Erm... should anyone from the future be reading this: F**k this game, F**k Hammerpoint! I would delete the "support them" part, but I can't anymore, since it's been featured already. Things were looking quite different back in the day...
Scew this, I'm going DayZ.
They're offering item packs which come with early access to the Beta(15th as opposed to 31st of october), the Beta and the game will be free.
they want people to pay to try out there game before it is finished and they had to drop the price too because we don't take well to con artist. Day Z has these guys beat.
Hammerpoint Interactive. GO FUCK YOURSELVES
like minecraft when you die you lose every thing unless you go and pick it back up
So wait, this is a Beta and they're making you pay for it? No thanks. I call bullshit.
Colorado? That's where I live. This just got ten times better for me
I think the idea is based on the War Z model where when you die, you lose everything. So if you get $30 in "in game dollars" you can buy a shotgun, ammo, and sniper rifle for like $10 real dollars, step outside, and get sniped by a camper, only to have to repurchase them or lose it.
In the game, if (when) you die, you drop ALL the items you had on you. Anyone that comes by can loot your body and take everything you spent time collecting. So it is extremely hard to recollect your things after death unless you're playing with a group of friends. Even then it can be a challenge to get back to your body.
Uhhh. I've never heard of this game before, can you elaborate on what you mean when you say 'you lose it all when you die'?
Thank you, but I think I will wait until DayZ gets its standalone release.
