We Found A Winner Of Our Sidescrollers Desktop Design Contest!
There was a contest. People submitted entries. A winner was picked. Here they are. Boom.
So yeah, several Sidescrollers ago, Craig announced a contest to design a kickass ScrewAttack desktop background, and kickass ScrewAttack desktop backgrounds were received. There can only be one winner but there were a couple others I wanted to recognize before we get to the winner.
The first one comes from g1 WingManEXE, who created a Mega Man style ScrewAttack desktop. I thought that this style screen in Mega Man was reserved for the robot masters, so does that mean that we're also the masters of the robot universe, too?
After that we have one from g1 DRQ that pays homage to Mario Party After Dark. It serves as a little reminder/jab in the side to members of Team Jared that whenever it got rough in team based minigames, Chad and Yoshi were there to see them through to a victory.
And the winner of this contest we ran is the g1 who, while we supplied some assets for everyone to use in their entries, decided to come up with his own designs entirely. That g1 would be McKnackus I who blended old and new ScrewAttack in his own style to create a bunch of desktop backgrounds. The one below features our modern colors with a classic accessory, and congrats to McKnackus I who has won a copies of ScrewAttack's 8-Bit Glory and Too Hot for the Internet. If you want to use one of the backgrounds you've seen, you'll find that the embedded images are actually 1600x1000 which should be a good fit for most monitors. Thanks to everyone who entered, we look forward to doing more stuff like this in the future.
