What's The Difference? Peach vs. Daisy vs. Rosalina
I am going to take these three princesses and see what makes them different.
Not too long ago I watched The Best Ever on couples. When Lauren talked about how she prefers Daisy over Peach, it got me thinking how different each princess is from one another. So this time on What’s The Difference, I take a look at each princess and compare their personalities and characteristics. First, let's look at the main princess of the Mario series.
The main princess of the Mario series, Peach has been around for over twenty five years. Peach is the basic damsel in distress, pure, loyal princess you see in a lot of things. She follows the same formula that the Disney princesses and basically every other bland princess in history follows. Act pure and just, begging for her knight and shining armor to save her, and not act on her own will to save herself. You would think that after twenty five years of being kidnapped by the same person Peach would at least be smart enough to know how to escape from Bowser, but no, she just sits in \Bowser’s castle waiting for Mario to rescue her. Peach has the least personality out of the three, which makes her the least interesting. Other than the fact that she is supposed to be pure, she's basically nothing more than a trophy that Mario and Bowser have been fighting over all this time.
I said in my top 10 Mario characters that Daisy is my favorite princess, and for good reason. Daisy is a tomboy and isn't afraid to hang out with the boys. She's sassy, spunky, and she isn't scared to show everyone else how much ass she can kick when it comes to sports, especially soccer. Daisy is very energetic and happy, which easily makes her more likeable than Peach and her relationship with Luigi proves that. Speaking of which, her relationship with Luigi is more believable than the relationship between Mario and Peach. Mario saves Peach because he has to, but does Mario really want to save the same person who has gotten kidnapped again and again for over twenty five years? I wouldn't. When Daisy and Luigi get paired together, you can tell there's something there. Hell, in Mario Kart Wii, Daisy has a statue made showing Daisy and Luigi dancing together. All of this makes Daisy more than a princess; she's a person with a real personality.
The third and final princess is without a doubt the most interesting of them all. Appearing in Super Mario Galaxy, Rosalina is a very mysterious yet powerful character. She is very wise as she is very smart when it comes to knowledge about the universe. She is described to be very strong on the outside, but is sorrowful within due to the loss of her mother. Rosalina has plenty of powers, from being able to float in the air, to turning the comet observatory into a starship. She visits a blue planet every one hundred years which means she is either still very young or she is immortal. But probably the most interesting thing about Rosalina is that she is a mother figure to the lumas. When a luma is born, Rosalina takes care of them in her comet observatory. Feeding them, reading stories to them, and watching them grow up to the day they leave and become stars and planets across the universe. Her mother-like nature and her possible immortality makes her more interesting and makes her the most developed character in the Mario series.
Who is your favorite princess and why?
They made something like that... except she actually saves Mario and Luigi. It's called Super Princess Peach. But out of all the games for Mario there's been that only THAT SINGLE GAME. That's just sad.
Well what do you expect it's a rated E game after all Nintendo are not going to get Mario laid you want that S*** go on Rule 34 or Newgrounds
Oh don't forget Super Paper Mario
I like all three so no contest for me.
Nintendo made Rosalina a princess because they felt like it. As for Pauline, I thought about it and I decided to talk about the princesses only.
Daisy is my favourite by far and I just don't like Peach. Rosalina is okay but I don't recall her being a princess, also you could at least have given Pauline an honourable mention :P
There really needs to be a game where Peach attempts to escape Bowser's castle. Badly. Oh wait, she kind of did in Paper Mario.
Not to mention she's been playable in Super Mario RPG and all three Paper Mario games and had her own game: Super Princess Peach. Something tells me she doesn't bother to resist Bowser kidnapping her for the simple fact that she's obsessive compulsive over the idea of Mario coming to her rescue.
Yea, Peach just "sits" in Bowser's castle. So in Super Mario Bros 1, the first 7 seven castles(she was in castle 8) were empty. In Super Mario Bros 3, Bowser shows up w/ 7 kids. Hmm....
Hmm.. never thought about that?
And who's the king? It's not King Koopa is it? Cause then that would be weird o.o
My favorite is the one with the biggest rack.
Rosalina is definitely my favourite. I loved her in Super Mario Galaxy.
To be fair, Peach has tried to escape from Bowser, at least in Paper Mario, one of the best games of N64.
... not a princess.
Because I tend to prefer the more energetic go-getter characters in games, I'd say Daisy is my favorite (especially after seeing her personality in full effect during Mario Strikers Charged)
Rosalina is interesting, but she isn't a princess. She's a queen. Speaking of which, where is the queen of the Mushroom Kingdom?
And that is why I want to save Rosalina instead of peach. All I get is a kiss from peach, a freaking kiss or a cake, that's it. If Nintendo let's us save Rosalina I feel like I might actually get rewarded, whether she gives us a powerful item or a night in the sack, but I feel like Rosalina would actually be grateful and do something awesome for Mario.
Peach and Rosalina I agree with you there. I would think that Daisy would be sleeping with Luigi instead of Wario and make Luigi a man. Or less of a wuss but that's my theory.
I personally think that's because these are arcade style action games so they didn't need to create an elaborate back stories.
Take Mario for example, he's a silent hero who save princesses under no condition and no reward for the past 26 years. Very little is known about who he is and what he does. Most of what we know of Mario came from the old 80's cartoon. So everything we know of these characters came from spin off series or notes on instruction booklets.
This is why when Nintendo actually did a back story Rosalina it was so memorable. It is the first character in Mario series that has story outside of the RPG series.
Rosalina. Period. Why?
Peach sleeps with Bowser :(
Daisy sleeps with Wario :(
Yeah I know those are just accusations, but there ARE A LOT of HINTS about those scandals in most of the games they are featured in.
Rosalina is the only one whose "stuff" hasn't been tapped by a two ton demon turtle and a REALLY ugly dude. Not to mention the fact that she is undoubtedly the hottest of the three. Just look at that sexy hair and chic complexion! Unlike the others, her outfit seems much more form-fitting and far away from the old, cheesy, 16th century and Elizabethan look of Peach and Daisy. She is original, developed, and is not a hoe. End of story.
