Wii U demos have a limited number of uses, dictated by the publisher
With the launch of the Rayman Legends demo on the Wii U eShop, many of you might be experiencing one of the eShop’s newer features, play limits. A feature originally on the 3DS, the eShop demo for FIFA 13 is set to 10 uses, where as Rayman Legends comes in at 30. Why the difference? Nintendo says the decision is left up to the publisher. Here is the exact quote from a Nintendo spokesperson.
When you try to play a demo after exceeding the cap, a notification sends you to the eShop where you can purchase the full game. This is kind of similar to PS3 bringing 1 hour trials to PlayStation Plus, but do you think this strategy might continue in the eighth generation? Or is Nintendo out of touch?
