Wii Us graphic power finally revealed!

tl;dr

:(

The Wii Us full graphical capabilities have been revealed! So what are they, you ask? This list may make things less complicated:

  • The Wii U has AMD's RV770 line of proccessors
  • The GPU core features 320 stream processors, 16 texture pack units, and 8 ROPs (render output units)
  • The engine being utilized in the Wii U is roughly a 4650/4670
  • The Wii U's clock speed runs at 550 MHz

In laymens terms, the Wii U can run 720p very easily and is more powerful than the Xbox 360 and the PS3. So, that rumor can finally be put to rest! Hooray! Unfortunately, doing 1080p on the Wii U is pushing it a lot. Oh, and about the WIi U in comparison to the Xbox 720 and the PS4. The average predicted specs for both those systems EAT the Wii U. Definitely not good for the Wii U, as it will be in the exact same place the original Wii was.

From what I've read on other sites, Eurogamer and their source made their guess with only about half of all the parts and pieces known. Its very possible the Wii U's actual specs are a bit stronger.

It was also assumed the Wii U was going to be underpowered anyways when compared to the next PS4 and Xbox.

I don't see this damaging Nintendo all that much. If they can sell a standard def system for 6 years in the HD market, I'm sure the new tablet controller will keep people around.

Meh, graphics don't matter, it's all about the games in the end. Honestly I won't be surprised , and was already expecting for Sony/Microsoft to most likely beat Nintendo out in that department.

Meh. Being THAT up to date with graphics isn't really important.

Yeahhh.... The Wii U being in the same shoes as its predecessor was something to be expected for the 8th generation, but really I don't mind.

The reason I was excited for the Wii U was because we could finally have Nintendo games in HD, and nothing else. Besides, graphics are coming to the point where its starting to look way too realistic. As somebody who owns a PS3, and a decent gaming PC, I'm pretty happy at the point we are at in gaming graphically.
