Wild 3DS XL Pikachu Edition has appeared!

The official Pokémon Center in Japan will be releasing a limited edition Pikachu-themed 3DS XL. It will be out and into the wild for ¥18,900 or $239 in U.S. currency.

The design of the new model will be bright featuring the electric face of everyone's favorite mascot, and his lightning-bolt shaped tail on the back. It'll be up for pre-order at Pokémon Centers in Japan starting August 25th thru September 14th. Any of you g1s looking to score this shockingly awesome item? Put your thoughts in the comments below!

And when someone sees you playing, Pikachu will be upside down for them. That's something that I hate with DS-art. Most of the time the DS will stay open when out of it's vacuum case, made out of titanium, to keep those nasty scratches away, so why can't the picture be other way around? But still, it looks cool.

This is the first thing to ever have the thought pass through my head that I want a 3DS XL... Although, in my opinion, it would have been better if they used some other pokemon.

Now why couldn't this be on the regular 3DS? Actually, I'm happy with my purple 3DS, although this one looks cool.

I'm just waiting for the Groudon and Kyogre ones to appear when the Gen 3 remakes finally surface. That 3DS does look awesome though.

Meh, I love Pokemon, but don't care for Pikachu, its an awful Pokemon in terms of usefulness.

Yes. Yes it is. Sadly its still kinda weak compared to other final form electric types, I wish they would make it better, or at least allow it to use the light ball. It's definitely useable enough to get you by. Also a much better design.

it'll be region locked to japan so only japanese DS/3DS games will work on it, right?
