WipEout 2048 lives on despite Sony Liverpool’s closure
Yesterday a rather cryptic message appeared on Twitter and Facebook from the WipEout 2048 account. It was a simple message, with a deeper meaning. "WE. ARE. ALIVE." Later that evening, the Facebook page would be updated with a message acknowledging the closure of Studio Liverpool and giving users a silver lining.
The online play for WipEout as it currently stands will remain and will be supported with “plenty of WipEout community events, giveaways and goodies”. They also mention this will be done as they “wait for news on the future of WipEout”. Indicating that despite the studio closure, the franchise will live on. Any g1s WipEout fans that are happy to hear this news?

While it's great and all that the series is continuing, I can't help but feel sad that the developer that created the series over 15 years ago and carried it all this time was shut down so suddenly. It doesn't feel right that Sony would kill off the studio then just hand the game off for someone else to finish.

Definitely! I just hope the franchise doesn't get picked up and picked up and manhandled into deformed obscurity by a company that doesn't know the difference between a left and right airbrake, though.
