The Witcher 3 officially revealed today by CD Projekt RED

2/7/13 2:04pm

Originally teased as an Easter Egg in CD Projekt RED's trailer for CyberPunk 2077, The Witcher 3 has been officially revealed today along with several other details.

According to CD Projekt RED, the game will be titled as The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and is the final game for the series.

Other details include the game being roughly thirty times larger than The Witcher 2 and will be running on the studio's new REDengine 3 technology. Cyberpunk 2077 earlier was also announced to be using the same engine as well.

The game itself is also being designed to be more newcomer-friendly than previous Witcher games.

According to the boss of CD Projekt RED, Adam Badowski:

"it takes place in a rich, truly open world environment. A world which is thrilling to explore, full of daring adventures, momentous quests, memorable characters, and unique monsters. Players will freely travel through woods, lakes, mountains, cities, and villages. Each region is inhabited by distinct populations with their own customs, legends and problems. The world of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is 30 times bigger than The Witcher 2."

The game is currently planed for a 2014 release with a PC and next gen consoles as the planned platforms.
