WTF. Mods put PSASBR in my SSBB?!
For anyone who wanted a little more Smash Bros. and less SuperBot in the new PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, the Internet has your back. Four modders from the Smash Bros. community have decided to create their own version of SSBB, with the roster from PSASBR. Coming from KittyCorp: MeowMix, you can check out the all the characters as they look from the mod, which is of course available for free.
In addition to the announced roster from the game, there is an additional set of characters that the modders felt might be missing from the overall package. Some of these characters omissions are actually notable and include Lara Croft, Old Snake, Tomba, and Isaac Clarke. Still no mention of Crash Bandicoot, but I seriously doubt his inclusion if the SSB community won’t even have him. Pretty cool mod though. Head over to KittyCorp for some galleries of the combatants.
These are looking like a speechless and not define anything usable. pest control for office
During the game, players damage other players to receive orbs that build up a power meter at the bottom of the screen. Earning enough power allows players to use one of three levels of super moves which can be used to defeat opponents and earn points. Thanks. Regards, moroccan oil ultra
Most of the darer games and everyone like this game with children and adults also with 3d animation. seo company
I have to admit that those are rather neat.
Well, there is a difference between liking the idea and actually liking the game ;)
Also, I agree with everything you say, at least about the super mechanics, seeing as on my PS3, it was unplayable beyond recognition (disappearing characters or characters not respawning at all).
To add to this though, I just don't like the art style at all. It feels like a high-budget fangame. I mean, you don't just blend differently styled characters together without at least trying to fit each style with each other. Either characters look too real or too unrealistic. In fact, you can't even call it an art style.
This game would have been better off if it was exactly like Super Smash Bros. There, I said it. I wanted PSASBR to be Super Smash Bros.
See, I had no problem with them making a similar game, even with having differences, but I just don't think they understand how to make the game fun. At least, from what I've played, I didn't have fun.
You have to use Supers to kill people - none of that lovely damage meter stuff from Smash Bros., or even a health bar or something like that.
You can't knock people off the edge, and when you get hit, your characters fly a million miles across the screen.
Kratos is way overpowered, and Radec is so broken because he has no recharge time and can fire across the whole arena (they better fix that, because that's ridiculous EDIT: they fixed that with a new patch, but he still has no recharge time or anything of that sort).
The constant calling-out of super levels gets really irritating very quickly, and every character feels the exact same - sluggish. I completely disagree with what Sean said about them feeling different. They don't. Sure, they each have their own move sets, but a lot of them feel generic, such as Sly.
I also felt it wasn't as easy to pick up and play as Super Smash Bros. Now, granted, I have played Smash Bros. many times before, but I always felt it was easy to pick up and play. You could get an idea of how characters would feel from just looking at them. For example, Pikachu is small, so he's light, Mario is average-sized, so he's a pretty balanced and well-rounded character, and Bowser is big, so he's going to be heavy and slow but strong. All-Stars doesn't feel like that. All the characters feel very similar if not identical (Sly should be nimble, light, and fast, not sluggish like Kratos, for example), and that just really throws me off.
I wanted to like All-Stars Battle Royale - I really did. But unfortunately, there are just too many things that irritate me. I don't think Super Smash Bros. is perfect either, but I think it's got much better mechanics and gameplay design.
Of course I'm talking about the idea. I assume Smash players would have preferred it if Sony just stuck with the program.
Actually, I need to check it out myself, now that the public beta is public.
I cudda sworn Alex Mercer was in PSASBR
They did, but his special was to cut his own finger off.
Thanks for proving my point
The idea, maybe. The game, after playing it? No thank you.
Very impressive. But why no Ethan Mars?
I'd rather Snake any day to be honest.
Sweet mod, kinda wish for spyro and crash, but it's still an amazing mod
4 modders out of how many fans? Yea, all of SSB fans like Playstation Battle Royale.
I tried it at a friends house to day, and it wasn't bad, but the whole time I just wished I was playing Super Smash Bros. After,3 matches that's just what we did.
Smash Bros has Snake, PS all-stars has Raiden, which would you chose?
I forgot what PSASBR stood for. Oh yeah, Playstation's Somewhat Adequate Smash Brothers Ripoff. LOL
