SGC 2013 OPENS THIS FRIDAY!

Hey. Follow us and stuff.

Look how social we are.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown pre-order incentives are insane and you can make them better!

9/7/12 6:00pm
tl;dr
  • Reward 1 is a bunch of XCOM skins.
  • Reward 2 the same thing, plus TF2 items (why not?)
  • Reward 3 is everything, plus a copy of Civ V!

SHADDAP AND TAEK MAH MONIES!

Great news to all XCOM fans, Enemy Unknown is now available for pre-order on Steam. But the way the offer their pre-order bonuses work this time seems rather new. Almost Kickstarter-ish, if you ask me. Depending on how many gamers have pre-ordered the game, you get the following rewards on release date:

Reward 1

Elite Soldier Pack

The Elite Soldier Pack will provide the ultimate tools for soldier customization in XCOM: Enemy Unknown, including:

  • Classic XCOM Soldier
Players will instantly receive a new recruit in their barracks inspired by the original X-COM: UFO Defense. The iconic soldier with the blonde, flattop hairstyle will return fully modernized.
  • Soldier Deco packs
Players can customize their soldier with several aesthetic upgrades to armor suits, including the new Hyperion and Reaper soldier armor kits.
  • Complete color customization
A variety of colors and tints for all armor sets in the game allow players complete control to customize their squad’s look.
Reward 2

Everything Above, Plus:

3 Exclusive XCOM TF2 Items:

  • The Crafty Hair
If you're ever planning on fighting aliens, this is the hair to have.
  • Area 451
If aliens ever invaded Badlands and used their special alien powers to make all of our heads look like alien heads, this is a scientifically accurate representation of what Pyro would look like.
  • The Vigilant Pin
This pin proudly states to all that you are at least vaguely aware of the possibility that maybe aliens exist.
Reward 3

Everything Above, Plus Civilization V!

As of today, the number of pre-orders have reached 80 percent of Reward 1. What say you guys help out? :D

XCOM is ready for release on October 11th, 2012

£30 seems steep...

So... this is the one with the "BETRAYAL!" scream on it?

Nope. This is the true Xcom game. The "other" game is something we do not like to talk about around these parts

Sorry I pre-ordered for my PC a long time ago.

If you pre-ordered it on Steam, I guess they'd still honor it or something.

I did not, don't even have a Steam account.

You should get one just so you can download TF2 for free.

Double-T

I would but believe it or not, I don't play TF2
