Yoshida: 'We are the challengers' compared to Microsoft
There's certainly no love lost between the two gaming giants that are Microsoft and Sony. However, there's one thing they certainly see eye-to-eye on, and that is their respect for one another.
In an interview with 4gamer, Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios' Shuhei Yoshida states the Sony brand has done considerably well in the Western market, especially now with what seems to be countless amounts of pre-orders for the PlayStation 4. On the other hand, he feels as if they're the underdog going into the battle for the Western market against Microsoft.
While the PS4 may be a top-tier contender to go against the Xbox One, Sony may have a "one-up" with the newly announced Vita TV.
Even though Sony may think they are also the underdogs or challengers, it's also no secret they're willing to pull out all the punches and "cheap shots" they can deliver. Get your popcorn ready, folks. We may be in for an interesting advertisement campaign.
PS3 started in a pretty deep hole too last gen. So you never know.
"We are the challengers"? Yeah, that's assuming the XB1 can dig itself out of its PR grave. Yeah, they made a few revisions, but at the moment, it's all just up in the air as to whether it'll do well or not.
599 US dollars.
Wow, this is sounding more and more like the 8 and 16-bit console wars all over again. It's odd that Sony sees itself in Sega's role though; maybe because they had an uphill battle this last gen with the bungled PS3 launch and PSN hack.
And someone will attack a giant enemy crab's weak point for massive damage. Also RIIIIIIIIIIIIGDE RACEEEEEEEEEER!!!!
And cyborg clams will invade the surface world.
I love it when a multi-billion multi-national corporation calls itself "the underdog".
