I first want to tell everyone that this is no way an official return for me. Unfortunately, the Internet is still out of my reach. However, I do have a few things to say about my nomination for g1 of the Year and the situation in general.
I understand that some feel I shouldn't be g1 of the Year for whatever reason - mainly the points and even being a moderator here at ScrewAttack. I understand the idea behind it, but neither of these points mean that I'm any less of a g1.
If anyone looks back over the nine months that I've spent here, they could see that ScrewAttack is a passion that I've always fought for. From participating to heated discussions to trying to reform the groups to moderating to defending SA from those who would run it down with hateful words, I've been there for ScrewAttack since I showed up. That's recorded history.
I will admit that I have defended this place with a taste of ferocity at times, but that's because I honestly do care about ScrewAttack. It's not some place that I hail as a great thing and then shoot to pieces later on. This place is my second home.
I still demanded that ScrewAttack be a big part of things even when I started my own website. Debasedtothis.org welcomes all g1s and tries to interact with ScrewAttack as much as possible.
My time is limited, so I can't continue referring to everything that's ever happened between this site and I. But what I can say is that everyone should vote for who they truly believe is worthy of this spot. Don't vote out of spite or hatred. That's what is wrong with democracy. Don't be bullied when it comes to voting either. Express this freedom that ScrewAttack has given to you. Vote for g1 of the Year.

I don't think you have
I don't think you have screwed up a thing. I believe all your actions were strategically done to a very high caliber. I say this with the topic of everyone (and i don't mean that literally not everybody just some or most people) not giving you a chance just for you being a Mod. You bring amazing content every time you try. All you have done is be a g1 that steps up to the plate and from what Ive seen you haven't failed once and it doesn't matter if your a mod (there is a reason you are for god sake).
Debaser All i am getting to is that I have no regrets with this "election", and neither should you. I voted for a person that for some reason that i don't know gets attacked for no reason. My vote is going to you.
You are the only one in my opinion (no offense to the other candidates) that actually does something that changes. You work on many blogs, your own website, your content on other sites, the forums. you do it all and i see no reason for you getting crucified for that.
You other candidates do your own, dont get me wrong but I just see Debaser acting more and more often.

Let me just say that debaser has been a very useful contact within the g1 community. On numerous occasions, debaser has answered several questions for me in a timely fashion. He has also helped me to get some of my blogs up on the Top g1 Posts; RingtoneAttack. And don't think that everything I have presented to debaser has made it up as a Top g1 Post. debaser has always given his honest opinion on blogs that weren't up to par for a Top g1 post. His nomination as well as HybridRain and Kazekawa's are well deserved!!! Keep up the great work guys!!!

With power and fames you gain supporters as is clearly shown in the replies but you also earn a noticeable number of critics, that is how life is. ScrewAttack has it's share of haters as does people all the way up to the likes of Barack Obama.
I have only had 1 conversation with you before the move but you seemed sincere and passionate about SA. Many are looking forward to your return and if you don't hurry back Chefprotoss is likely to go bald.
I'm actually extemely honored to be on the same list as you Debaser considering all the notches you have on your belt and I am quite sure Hybrid feels the same.

How in the hell has this post been ranked down to a 3.5? It shouldn't even be voted on in the first place. The man clearly states his love for ScrewAttack, his past record, his desire to see people vote freely and then reports on his lack of internet.
Is there a reason for why it was voted down? I am not saying his horn should be blown by everyone but come on...

don't really understand why you should i mean, you were nominated for a reason right? I mean, that means someone out there has a reason to put you up with everyone else there. plus having the highest point score of g1 points is probably one reason to be nominated. it just shows your how much you have done for the community.
maybe I'm missing the point, my comp was down all day yesterday so I've yet to see everything that happened today.

Some feel that I have somehow cheated my way into a nomination. Just like the points system, I can see how it could come off as strange. That's why I'm addressing the issue.
But the big thing to remember is I've been gone for well over a month - and I'm still technically not back. No strings attached, people; others nominated me.

Maybe it's rated low because..
Maybe it has received a bit of a low rating (not to say it should be rated at all) because most people think this isn't something to be debated or anything like that.. I'm not sure. But what I do know is that whenever Debaser gets brought up to something, he carries with him a wave of "haters" that continuously try to find a way of linking his points to some conspiracy about running the leaderboards.. or something like that.
All I know is the guy is basically saying this is who I am, vote for who you think should win and I can respect that. Its not like he just made a post saying look how great I am and you should vote for me because I'm amazing. Maybe thats the reason why we have the 3 nominees that we do? All are quite humble and honored to be in the position and that makes for a prime example of what it is to be a g1.
So for everyone hating on debaser.. let it go already. I am, as well as I'm sure he is, sick and tired of hearing "OMG Debaser is liek ruining teh rankz OMGOMG!" let it go. No point in dragging that debacle back into light again.
To all 3 nominees, congratulations. Like I've said a bunch to numerous blogs.. to just be nominated should be enough of an honor on here.

I think the source of most of the hate is simple jealousy. Digital Debaser has accomplished more than many casual posters ever will and has earned his place when it comes to what he is known for. He's got fame, credibility, power (sorta, being a mod), accomplishments... throw all that into a site where free speech is encouraged and all sorts of age groups and maturities (and immaturities) exist and you end up with this complicated situation.
Can't make everyone happy, but you can make most of them. So in my eyes you've earned your place at ScrewAttack just like every other great G1 that's invested such time and passion into their blogs and community efforts.
As for the rating, keep in mind many people including myself don't bother rating at all or else I'd give it a high one.

All three guys are more than worthy of this award. But i would like to say that from what i seen on the forum and this may not be accurate but 177 votes have been cast and the last time i looked there were around 9000 regesterd G1's so without trying to geek out thats 1.96%. Thats roughly the turnout for our uk elections lol. Good luck to all 3 of you!!!
