After nearly a year of watching Chris Bores steal, plagiarize, and rip off James Rolfe, I finally had the camera, editing software, and computer necessary to portray the untalented dolt for who he truly is. This is a hilarious (according to my viewers, not me-I'm not THAT cocky) non-copyright-infringing parody of YouTube's IrateGamer. This parody portrays a "Kris Boors" who clearly doesn't have an original or funny idea in his head and who's sole purpose in life seems to be banking on the concepts and ideas of someone else.
May I proudly introduce, the "commercial" for the TheUpsetGamer DVD: Vol. 1.

I think Chris knows that I've done no copyright infringement here, and as such, he hasn't got a basis for filing any kind of claim on the video.
But, if he DOES file a bogus one to get it pulled, I know all the steps I have to go through to get it put back up since I've had to go through it before.
I even have a video on my youtube account telling people how to deal with bogus copyright infringement claims on their videos.
great job on the vid and it was pretty funny and accurate. I mean seriously. Rants about cereal. Personally i don't think the irate gamer is unspeakably bad or anything but james is more original and has more comedic genious. I don't like the irate gamer to well but the special effects he does are pretty cool. The thing i hate about him though is that when he talks it sounds like he's forcingit like he's not genuinely mad hence the name "IRATE gamer." James seems genuinely mad without forcing it and has more original uses of profanity like shitload of fuck. Also i like the use of the word ASS in his videos it's pretty hilarious. So overall irate gamer will last for quite awhile but may eventually fade away

From my point of view, it seems that Chris is indeed getting all the attention he is clamoring for. Has it ever occured to you that imitation, even if it's meant to be insulting, is the highest form of flattery. By acknowledging his existence, you further his gimmick. And frankly, I like The Irate Gamer.
But I think what really takes the cake is lots of people are whining and crying and bitching and moaning about Chris supposedly stealing James' content and even getting paid for it.
But someone please...PLEASE show me an instance where James himself is complaining about it! Anybody? It seems the two are simply doing their own thing and not looking for any trouble with the other.
BOTH of them are equally popular in their own way! And if James isn't having any problems with Chris earning profit on something based in some part on his original concept, then why are other people getting all bent over something that isn't their personal problem to begin with! Just get the hell over it everyone! AVGN and The Irate Gamer are both here to stay and there's nothing you can do about it!

I've already talked to Mike Matei, and on the subject of IrateGamer, he says that he, James, and Kyle have taken the stance that basically any attention is more than he deserves.
They definitely know about him stealing their ideas, jokes, and monologue and do not approve of it. Mike mentioned several of the instances to me.
They definitely do not support or approve of IrateGamer in any way and think he is every bit as much of a untalented, hack plagiarist as I've portrayed him as in this video. (MIke didn't use those words, of course, but the disapproval of what IG has been doing was VERY clear)
But of COURSE they're not going to come out and address the situation. Why? Let's answer this once and for all:
WHY WON'T CINEMASSACRE ISSUE AN OFFICIAL STATEMENT ON IRATEGAMER IF HE PISSES THEM OFF?
Because they'd have nothing to gain by doing so. They know there are fans of IrateGamer who honestly can't see the rampant amount of theft Bores has committed, and if they were to share their honest feelings, they would probably lose the respect of those people.
So, basically, as a thank you to James, (and at no insistence or involvement from them) I decided to mock the crap out of Chris and portray him for the no-talent unfunny plagiarist he is.

I'll even give you the benefit of a doubt and admit that yes, I am aware of the similarities in some of the videos. And you know what...I don't CARE! There's something you got to realize: This possible battle of plagarism and who gets what is between James and Chris. And I hate to say this, you can't copyright the swear words, you can't copyright the whole pissed off game dude concept! Chris goes by the moniker "The Irate Gamer" and James "Angry Video Game Nerd". Those are two completely different (yet similar of course) things. And what matters (to me) is that both of their videos (usually in both of their cases) make me laugh.
I personally have no qualms with who's copying who. As the viewer, if I feel entertained by it, I'm good to go. I'm not going to waste my time and energy on a pointless crusade on who is wronging who. That kind of BS is between the parties involved and has nothing to do with me. And since this is all based on Nintendo, Sega, etc games, it falls under fair use and neither can do a damn thing about it. It's all fair. In fact, I may even just start my own internet video game reviews and call it "The Pissed Off Player"!
Now I'll say it again, your video is just an example of a person taking something waaay too personally. Or heck, even if you say you're not, that video is a waste of time. I've talked to Chris myself and he could give two shits about what people think about him. He does what he likes and I'm not gonna stop him. If you don't like what he's doing, it's because you CHOOSE to not like it.
And in conclusion, if James decides to make any issues he may have with Chris public for his fans to clearly see, then I'll follow along with it and see how it plays out. But until then, I will continue to enjoy both AVGN AND The Irate Gamer!

It would probably be better to do a comparison of the instances there AVGN was copied. I saw a few in the Predator Vid. Even a shot for shot of when he had the gun. The camera was in the exact same spot.
It's more like 1000 times rather than 4. One of my videos has X00,000 views on YouTube but X0 views on LiveVideo and Dailymotion combined.
I've always wanted to leave YouTube since they don't respect Fair Use and accept illegal fraudulent DMCA claims all day long, but there's nowhere else to go and 0.00001% of my viewers would follow if I did leave. Shit, as you told me, most people think Hellsing920 is dead when he's just on Livevideo with 1% of his viewership, if that much.
I've heard from a lot of sources that ScrewAttack is trying to make their own YouTube, and I'm all for that. Already love the blogs.

If there's this big problem with Chris having videos taken down because of copyright infingement, then why are people insisting on putting his content (and by content, I mean footage he actually created) in your videos? Why are people so hell bent on making a mockery of him or as I said before, on a crusade to villainize him?
Even if he did copy concepts from AVGN, has it ever occured to anyone that it may just be coincidence? That Chris just happened to come up with the same idea(s) that James did? Regardless, he made his videos with his own equipment and made it all himself. He didn't steal a single bit of content that James created.

It's funny how he's not only taken video game review ideas from AVGN, but also made videos on subjects the AVGN has done (TMNT and Ghostbusters), as well as basic ideas such as overusing CG effects or revisiting games mentioned on a constant basis (Contra).
Then when it comes to trying to come up with original ideas, the videos end up coming off as being god awful.
What some people are missing is the fact that AVGN had to basically leave YouTube due to having his videos removed due to his profanity, whereas Irate Gamer is not only allowed to stay, but is making money off of ripping off AVGN's whole shtick.
Well done dude, that totally captured IG perfectly. I had been talking to my brother about how IG sucks with his lame side characters and use of sprites just a couple of days ago, so this came as a welcome surprise.

I agree whole heartedly. ig's a hack, I just try to ignore him in hopes that people will realize that not only is he a complete thief; but also as unfunny as...well all the other chris's in comedy (minus Farley).
Someone recommend me a good irate vid, cause I've seen a few, and they're drove me up the wall with boredom. The whole plagiarism thing is kind've far fetched though. I mean, if your gonna be an angry reviewer, you are gonna come across many instances where your gonna sound like the other dude who's about as angry, less angry, or angrier then you. Yup, the Predator review was a ripoff from the Bugs Bunny Video, the Rambo video AND the Friday the 13nd one.. very sad.

to be honest, the IRATE Gamer and AVGN are nothing alike. you see, James (AVGN) only do reviews on older games that are crappy (not including the Super Mario Bros. 3 review) where as Chris (IRATE) not only review older games but new games too. also Chris review good games and points out it's flaws where as James who only talk about the crappy game's flaw or how stupid the idea was. one thing that James does that Chris doesn't do is review game consoles.... i'm not trying to start a fight or anything but i'm just trying to explain my opinion, because i like them both and i see alot of hate comment on IRATE Gamer on youtube

It's not about him ripping off the "concept" of angry reviewing, at all.
AVGN has no problem with people doing their own angry reviews.
The issue at hand is that Bores continually steals James' complaints and commentaries about games, shoddily re-writes them, and never gives James ANY credit whatsoever. I don't really have the time on me right now to go down through the list of how many times Bores has stolen stuff from James, but maybe one day I will.
Watch James' and Chris' reviews of TMNT back-to-back to get some sort of idea.
The other thing it's about, is a personal beef I have with YouTube.
Put simply, IrateGamer wouldn't have even 1/8 of the popularity he does now if it weren't for his overreliance on special effects and production values.
Yes, he manages to make a show that "looks pretty", but once you get past that you can see it for the unentertaining, unfunny, grammatically-horrendous mess it is.
As such, I think it was a slap in the face to James and every other game reviewer online to feature that no-talent hack when tons of other people were doing it before him, and better than him.
Sorry dude, I gotta disagree with you on one point: His special effects aren't pretty. As a person who works in that field, it's almost insulting how badly they are executed.

I'm not sure you should have even given him the time of day to make this, but it is funny and spot on.
I don't really hate TIG but I do believe he's obviously a copycat. For example, I can't say that the AVGN actually invented the term "shitload of fuck" but I do know that he's the first I've ever heard use the phrase, especially as an angry reviewer. So when I hear TIG use the exact same phrase about a year later on one of his reviews, then yeah it's pretty bad.
Plus I think you need look no further than his other stuff. The AVGN has Cinemassacre and has several other quality things he does besides the AVGN; TIG's other stuff is really, really lacking. The Rice Krisies crap is beyond stupid. To me that's a mark of how good he really is (or isn't), meaning you take away his angry reviewer stuff and he really has nothing. Take away the angry reviewer stuff from the AVGN and he would still excel.

Someone recommend me a good irate vid, cause I've seen a few, and they're drove me up the wall with boredom. The whole plagiarism thing is kind've far fetched though. I mean, if your gonna be an angry reviewer, you are gonna come across many instances where your gonna sound like the other dude who's about as angry, less angry, or angrier then you. I dunno, I don't think he's that good but, congratulations, you just made him a little more well known.

to be honest, the IRATE Gamer and AVGN are nothing alike. you see, James (AVGN) only do reviews on older games that are crappy (not including the Super Mario Bros. 3 review) where as Chris (IRATE) not only review older games but new games too. also Chris review good games and points out it's flaws where as James who only talk about the crappy game's flaw or how stupid the idea was. one thing that James does that Chris doesn't do is review game consoles.... i'm not trying to start a fight or anything but i'm just trying to explain my opinion, because i like them both and i see alot of hate comment on IRATE Gamer on youtube

It's not about him ripping off the "concept" of angry reviewing, at all.
AVGN has no problem with people doing their own angry reviews.
The issue at hand is that Bores continually steals James' complaints and commentaries about games, shoddily re-writes them, and never gives James ANY credit whatsoever. I don't really have the time on me right now to go down through the list of how many times Bores has stolen stuff from James, but maybe one day I will.
Watch James' and Chris' reviews of TMNT back-to-back to get some sort of idea.
The other thing it's about, is a personal beef I have with YouTube.
Put simply, IrateGamer wouldn't have even 1/8 of the popularity he does now if it weren't for his overreliance on special effects and production values.
Yes, he manages to make a show that "looks pretty", but once you get past that you can see it for the unentertaining, unfunny, grammatically-horrendous mess it is.
As such, I think it was a slap in the face to James and every other game reviewer online to feature that no-talent hack when tons of other people were doing it before him, and better than him.

I'm not sure you should have even given him the time of day to make this, but it is funny and spot on.
I don't really hate TIG but I do believe he's obviously a copycat. For example, I can't say that the AVGN actually invented the term "shitload of fuck" but I do know that he's the first I've ever heard use the phrase, especially as an angry reviewer. So when I hear TIG use the exact same phrase about a year later on one of his reviews, then yeah it's pretty bad.
Plus I think you need look no further than his other stuff. The AVGN has Cinemassacre and has several other quality things he does besides the AVGN; TIG's other stuff is really, really lacking. The Rice Krisies crap is beyond stupid. To me that's a mark of how good he really is (or isn't), meaning you take away his angry reviewer stuff and he really has nothing. Take away the angry reviewer stuff from the AVGN and he would still excel.
