Am I the only one who thinks they should have a FFVII remake? OF COURSE NOT! We want this game remade, don't make us wait, and stop making games that we don't really care and aren't that excited about (Final Fantasy 12 for example.) It's nice to see a new approach and view point for Final Fantasy games, but come on, let's redo the classic, the one and only Final Fantasy VII!!! Cloud, Tifa, Aeris, and the others need a remake, and so do I! Don't get me wrong, I love the original, it's awesome, but a remake would be great! Imagine the graphics and summons now, on ps3 or 360...OH YEAH! That's all for now!

FF sequels aren't the same without Sakaguchi, the original creator/director (his last FF title was X-2). Since he left, the closest game I've seen that has the right feel from the series is FFIV:The After Years.

yeah! the FFVII remake is something that nearly every ffvii fan wants...and square enix knows it too! especially since they teased us with that ps3 tech demo. but yeah, if they do end up doing it, I just hope they dont redo the gameplay and try to implement a new battle system or something.
Well, having played their recent FF remakes...
...it seems to me as if S/E's approach to remakes these days is to break everything that didn't need fixing. If FF7 does get a remake, I'll expect the graphics to be the only actual improvement. It would also probably be safe to expect 50 more hours of required grinding, needlessly redone combat/growth systems, and probably some non-sensical additions to the story.
And possibly some bad ideas from their more recent games like FF12's fake Shakespearean English. Or FF Tactics Advance's (and Crisis Core's) hundreds of lazily designed "optional sidequests" ("disguised grindfests" would be a more accurate term).
Of course, S/E might prove me wrong. But if not, I'll probably just stick to the original PSX game...

but saying they should redo FF7 is like saying they should redo starwars.
It was a pinnicle of awesomeness then and messing with it now would alter the space time continuim.
Reskinning would be an awful idea, it wouldn't be the same seeing eveything "smooth" and "realistic", i know i'm not making valid points but thats because i'm so dumbfounded by the fact you want something as trivial of graphics improved.
i'm all for re-release but reskinning?

I know, i do feel kinda torn between what i want, cuz it would be cool to see a remake...but then on the other hand there is the possibility that they'll screw it up, so in the end I'm happy either way cuz nothings gonna change how great the original is...at least in my eyes :]

Hey man I wasn't looking for an argument, just wanted to state that I am a HUGE fan of FFVII and that a remake would be really cool, that is all. I don't want to start arguments and fights with people, I'm not about that. I do agree FFVII was a classic and I love the game in it's entirety, just saying with what they can do now, it'd be nice to see a remake someday, that is all.

You can't possible think you're the first person to have this idea right? People were asking for an FFVII remake when the Playstation TWO came out. I really doubt it's ever gonna happen. I don't think Square has done that with any games, only re-releases

The only way they said a remake will be done is if the entire original team is willing to do it. That statement was followed by them saying it will probably not happen, then followed by the guy saying that Crisis Core came about because half the team thought it was a good idea one weekend. Sooooo, it may happen, but only if enough of the team gets onboard.

They know that all the girls who have seen Cloud's pretty boy face in AC and others are gonna buy it, and they know that gamers will buy it cause well it was a good game. Not the best game of all time evar arr! But yeah a good game... I for one wouldn't buy it, even if I had a console. I'd wait for the FFIX Remake!!!
