omg

"6 minutes ago from web JT reminds us of Germany's current VG laws that derived from violent VGs. Total ban of violent game import.
Says German gov't b& VGs because of violence caused by them. Afraid that something worse will happen in US to get similar bans."

Is he really thinking Videogames got banned in Germany? thats bullshit. I live in Germany and you can buy videogames like in any other country.
Also there has never been a prove that videogames cause violent behavior.

I think he's referring to

I think he's referring to the bans and restrictions that followed after the school-shootings, making it harder for some games to get an 18-rating. Although he's wrong in the point that they didn't get banned, but had a harder time to be released uncensored in Germany.
btw. I think it's pretty funny that most of the time he pretty much used the same arguments as some of Germany's politicians or those against violent videogames in Germany(like Mr. Pfeiffer).

It's true that some games

It's true that some games are censored, but it sounded like he thinks they got completely banned.
Also it's no problem to just import the uncensored versions.
Still, all arguments politicians ever have against videogames are "that guy who shot people in the school had counterstrike on his pc".
There are millions of people how play games like that and it has nothing to do with actual violence, they are just searchin for something to blame because it's easier than searching for the real problems that cause these tragedys.

Yeah he messed up on that

Yeah he messed up on that part.
I completely agree with you though. The main problem in Germany is that almost all the politicians and self-proclaimed "experts" have no idea how to handle media like movies or games and since they are not even trying to understand why most of the youth likes these types of media and they aren't losing anything themselves, they try to ban it to have an easy scapegoat. That way they get the praise for the minimum effort. Another problem is that television and newspapers normally are siding with them and most of the time don't question some of those ridiculous claims.
So yeah, the situation is pretty shitty.

"Also there has never been a

"Also there has never been a prove that videogames cause violent behavior."

Uh, yes there has. Nothing to the extent that some (e.g. Thompson) claim, but yes there is in fact proof.

SHow me this proof. I want

SHow me this proof. I want documented fact. You are also NOT allowed to use wiki, since no valid source accepts wiki as proof. I want links, names, papers, anything that backs up your claim.
