Remember back in 2006 that Hideo Kojima had announced that their was a Metal Gear movie in the works but was then suddenly all quiet? Well  during the anniversary of Metal Gear, Hideo Kojima next to Avi Arad said the movie is still in the works and that the movie company they found to distribute the film is Columbia Pictures. This was announced during a event of the Metal Gear series anniversary. As your aware Arad is involved in the Uncharted and Mass Effect films  which are films that are still in the works. However Arad had this to say during the event.

Arad is the movie Producer although no word yet who the Director is. Are g1s excited for the Metal Gear movie?
