wow this is awesome, let put the site description
in this corner, we have “the advantage.” these guys are serious musicians. listen to how they tackle the complex, rockin’ soundtrack to mega man 2. i didn’t know the human hand could move that fast. holy crap. these guys are like that jam band in high school that got hired to play all the town events, the guys who dominated all their music classes.
in this corner, we have “minibosses.” these guys fucking rock. listen to how they suck every bit of kickass from the mega man 2 music. they look like they get some serious groupie action even though they’re video game nerds. these guys are like the garage band that got banned from all the town events, the guys that dropped out of high school and are still touring small clubs together.
Advantage and Minibosses are definitely the cream of nintendo bands I've heard.
I'd never heard keys in the Advantage before. Is that some new material, or a really old video? I prefer the drummer from Advantage by far, he does some crazy shit, and generally the musicianship is higher in the Advantage, and the arrangements, while true to the originals, are rockified a little bit, especially on drums, but I like that.
Minibosses have a great sound and they play very faithfully to the original tracks. It's nice to hear the NES arrangements on rock instruments, but I find it limits a little bit. I've also heard them do a final fantasy project called 'the Jenova project'.
I've also heard NESkimos. They're not that good, but have a metal sound and execution.
The Black Mages sound like dream theater, and they play only Final Fantasy tracks. Definitely check them out if you're into FF.
The real thing..
Those are the real guitar heroes right there. Awesome...
