Holy fuck, its Too Human! Man, Iv been waiting, like... A whole WEEK for this game! I got it, I played it, time for my thoughts!
So, story. Your this guy named Baldur, also for some reason everyone is a techno-viking. But guess what? Some robots are all "We're going to kill people!" and guess what its Baldurs job to do? FUCK. THEM. UP.
Anyway, its interesting, cutscenes are great, voice acting is awesome. A+
Alright, so what's Too Human? Well, its a Beat Em Up. Also, an RPG. Basically, you run around each level killing things, and once you killed enough things you can use skill points to beef up your character and equip better weapons! Honestly, if you arent excited by now, you SUCK.

Baldur about to fuck up some bitches
Everything about this game is so rad. The controls are REALLY awesome. You got melee attacks and ranged attacks. Melee attacks are controlled with the right analogue stick which works perfectly, you tap the direction you want Baldur to fuck up a bitch and he DOES! Its so much fun to rack up huge combos. Once you get into a thing you can tear through everything in a room.
Ranged attacks are controller with the triggers, basically you turn to who you wanna shoot and fire away! Just to clear something up, a lot of reviewers say the lock-on system used when firing ranged weapons is flawed. True, it could be better. You have to let go of the trigger after you kill an enemy in order to lock on to the next, but its no big deal... As long as your not a nub.
Killing enemies rewards Baldur with new armor, weapons, and EXP. You equip them, and you get STRONGER! :D AWESOOOOOOOOOOOOME!!!!!! You can also use Runes and make your own items. You can figure that out for yourself, chicken tenders.

Baldur fucking up a bitch
Then there are these parts were you go into Cyber Space and solve simple puzzles to open up places in the real world. Its kinda meh but its a good break from the action and you can still find weapons/armor/runes there. Same as secret rooms, but in those you fuck up bitches for a reward.
Alright, so you dig? This being a quick review I haven't gone into total detail, but basically that's the gameplay, and its GREAT. My ONLY gripe is the camera, which can sometimes swing in the wrong direction, but you know what? You have a button that centers the camera behind Baldurs back which is GREAT and the camera IS NOT THAT BAD.
So, if you like beat em ups and RPG elements, you will LOVE this game! If your STILL not sure, there's a demo on XBL so TRY IT!
K, so... Byeeeeeeeee
This is...
by far the most possitive review i have seen for too human.
nice review
the game has flaws but it is fun, if you enjoy action RPGs
Hahaha
You almost had me Dennis Dyack but I'm on to your games, coming here writing such a good review for such a mediocre game.
nah, jk I wasn't a fan of the demo of this game but that's just me, different strokes for different folks, if you enjoy it, good... I personally didn't. Nicely structured review though.
Well, I hate this game, but
Well, I hate this game, but that's not what this comment is about. I'm just amazed that no one has mentioned the freakishly long death sequence when the valkyrie descends and takes you to valhala or wherever. It's like twenty seconds long, you see it every time you die and there's no skipping it. It adds just that much more to the crap-factor of this game.
Iv heard it mentioned
Iv heard it mentioned before, and honestly I didn't find it to be that big a deal. It honestly isn't all that long... Not to mention you start out basically right were you died so it beats fighting through robot bitches all over again just to get back to that part.
And some say that takes away from the challenge, but I don't really care. Its a beat em up. I want to beat shit up. It makes me happy.
its either that or a 20
its either that or a 20 second loading screen. who really cares, honestly its 20 seconds get over it
Or I could just trade it in
Or I could just trade it in for a game that's actually worth playing.
or you could trade it in for
or you could trade it in for a pair of balls and stop being a little bitch
Its a good game not good
Its a good game not good enough for 10 years..
but still good I give it about a 7.5~8/10
Well, technically it only
Well, technically it only took... 4. They began work on it when Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes ended.
That is a very positive
That is a very positive review!!!
I love the story to the game, but my only gripe is the levels are FAR too long and thus gets repetitive quickly.
Also it really reminds me of Mass Effect for some reason.
Sounds like a VGV
I can really feel your passion for playing it, right on!
Personally...
I did not enjoy the game...there i said it.
But the review...wow, amazing review, thank you for the experience.
-- God Bless.
The only problem with the
The only problem with the game was that is was mediocre. It just didn't live up to the hype so it's taking some punches from reviewers. I thought it was okay, and it's just that: O.K.
Nice Review.
Although, most people are saying that Too Human is a bad game. I guess it's a love it or hate it game.
The game sucked
I already finished the game and it sucked hard, I wouldn't suggest anyone even rent it. It's very, very repetitive, and the entire game is based around you zerging down enemies. You just fight them do a bit of damage, get revived, do a bit more damage, get revived, and so on, for the ENTIRE GAME. Especially on boss fights, it's just silly. The music was also terrible, there were times where sounds just came up randomly, and where boss music started when there was no boss or special enemies or events. Also, for one or more of the bosses, they just looped a 20 second music clip over, and over, and over, and over. Also, the story sucked balls. I can't elaborate on why the story is so bad without spoiling it. Not sure what else to say but I urge you not to touch this PoS.
You DO know that this is a
You DO know that this is a BEAT EM UP right? Of course its going to be repetitive! And yeah, the dieing thing is kind of annoying, but have you tried multiplayer? Its fun for several! :D As I said, try the demo! if its not your thing don't get it. Its just. That. Simple.
Multiplayer is probably
Multiplayer is probably better, but that doesn't mean single player should suck so bad. Also, yea it is repetitive because it's a beat em up, but they could have kept it fresh by adding different types of enemies, except almost every enemy in the game is identical, there's maybe 3-4 that are different from eachother. I guess you could say that the game just isn't that rewarding to play.
I see what you mean there,
I see what you mean there, and you do bring up valid points. I guess it really is a love it/hate it kind of game. :P
I agree, this game is
I agree, this game is incredibly repetetive. I went in expecting something like Mass Effect with vikings, but it was nothing like that. You don't spend ten years developing a damn beat 'em up. The least they could have done was throw in some variety. You fight the same guys over and over. It's one of the most monotonous games I've ever played. The story is really stupid. This game is just a sloppy half finished piece of crap that people should avoid.
Seriously, it wasn't ten
Seriously, it wasn't ten years in development. The concept was created ten years ago but didn't begin development until 4 years ago. And yes, it isn't perfect but there's no need to bash it. It is by no means a piece of crap. Its a beat em up. And most definitely a multiplayer focused one. Honestly, have people really stopped caring for the genre? Its personally one of my favorite genres and, like a good Light Gun shooter, they just never seem to gets old.
Oh well.
