I am an aspiring writer and have recently been working on a book series that I really cannot explain too much about at this point. Anyway, I was speaking with Cobrastarshipfan the other day and he seemed very interested in my writing.
So I thought to myself, why not make a new story/series somehow based upon the ScrewAttack Community. It would be good practice for me and it could involve a large number of people. Who knows, we might even get it turned into a comic down the road or something along those lines.
If people are interested, I ask that you that say so in the comment field below and also include a genre you would like to see the story be set in (horror, comedy, fantasy and so on). Remember! We can have multiple things like a comedy/horror combo. You can also write a time period under your genre suggestion if you would like the story set in a non-modern time.
So this format please:
1. Write interest/dislike (Say if you like the idea, or why you think it is a bad idea)
2. Genre (what topic and any story suggestions)
If we get enough people interested, I will begin assembling something fairly quickly. The story/series could be something as crazy as members of ScrewAttack being sent to the gaming universe or even ScrewAttack HQ being raided by zombies. There are no real limitations and should be awesome and fun.

I was thinking, maybe the story would revolve around the primary staff and then a weekly contest of some sort could pick 1 to 3 g1's to also step into the fray. Could you imagine a virus outbreak as a result of Jose's tacos? Corey and Destin are desperatly trying to find a cure (Destin would actually be searching for photos of girls or some nonsense on the pc) and you'd see Highschool Ben and Craig doing something crazy outside in the parking lot.
That is just one idea though so who knows. We'll see how the responses go.

I like the idea. And I agree with falconpunch3... a comedy/horror/mystery would be cool. But the comedy would have to be clever and NOT Scary Movie Stupid!!! Those movies all FAIL on an EPIC level!!!

Plot
The plot would need to be something that could include the staff and some community members on a regular basis. Unless I write mini-stories in which case that could work.
As for Scary Movie stupid, there jokes are all bumping heads, drugs and sex jokes, none of which I would include in my stories. No worries, I have taste.
An example of comedy in my writing using the above stated virus outbreak due to tacos (this wouldn't be an exact segment from the story but is more of a summary of events):
(Corey and Destin are running from what appear to be infected g1's. Locking themselves in a room they search for something to block the door with. Corey starts to push a table against the door but the g1's have already arrived. In a panic she braces herself against the door and calls for Destin to help who in the midst of things is on his computer when he suddenly says "Oh man, fifteen dollars a month and I get unlimited access? Awesome." Corey's expression turns to anger as she grabs a nearby lamp and throws it at Destin.)
Something along those lines.

For those who do not read the forums
Here are the ideas for the story series so far:
1. Dramatic story involving Jose as he wakes up in a world without first person shooters. Can he fill the empty void in his life or will he refuse to settle for the new world and try to find a way back.
2. Viral Outbreak. A cliche story of a viral outbreak infecting a large population of the g1 community. The ScrewAttack HQ becomes under attack and only time will tell if the team can find a cure in time.
3. Final Screwtasy. A fantasy world with possible steam-punk elements. Meet such heroes as Super Chad the wise and fear such villians as Craig the Undying.
4. Adventure story where Craig loses his hat or possibly even gains it like Link obtained his hat in the Minish Cap.

Anyway, as for an artist, I am considering to add some graphics to one of the completeted stories when it gets to that point of development. Either a title graphic or even occasional graphics every so often. It brings more flavor to a story.

Already, but for an online RPG (not a MMO, but like an online group like DND), infact, here is an exerpt from one of my character's journals.
"The Dark Princess
Lately in my dreams, I have seen her. A princess Shrouded in black, each night she does...more demonic and evil things. She seems to portray the very thing I hate, a self absorbed...egotistical, power hungry... and evil woman. Whats more disturbing, is what she does, who she claims to be, and I refuse to acknowledge her, the Dark Princess.
In this time, I seen her, I dont notice my father, that is because she rises during the Nightfall War, destroying the kingdom from within. Father is fighting the demons with the blade of Gods bane. She murdered my sister, right before my eyes, in a flame of evil demonic power. Then...she turned to me.
She seems to have a Power most frightening indeed. She can see the past, more frightning she can interact with it, she can also see the future...and like the rift walker i seen, she can walk it too. She walks between the planes, and the Dimensions, seeking power and destroying all in her way.
She even wounded me, I woke up having to heal a bruise from my cheek where she slapped me. I know who she is, but i cant...i cant acknowledge she exists, for if its true, its the end of the kingdoms, and the end of me. So, I will look into this myself, see how she could possibly come to being, how this could be true, a Princess...so corrupt and evil, yet so frighteningly fair at the same time.

The thing is, My character, Marival, dreams of this woman but she refuses to acknowledge the truth... she IS this dark and evil woman, that all her actions are slowly corrupting her very soul and the is becoming the very thing she is disgusted with and hates.

I really appreciate all the comments. I like your idea alot Chozo and that may work with both zombie ideas and others.
Thanks as well Alison and it seems like you really do like D&D and Fantasy so if I end up writing fantasy your idea could work. I also write fantasy but cannot share anything on ScrewAttack about it because I am actually trying to complete something to be published.
I will write a few more sample ideas today and tomorrow. By the weekend I will select the first story and then we can discuss how to add images to it. It really depends on the length of the stories and how it is written. If they are short stories involving the ScrewAttack crew being sucked into multiple games then a comic/manga thing is partially possible. One photo every few scenes for example.

ScrewAttack Story Series
I like this idea because it could be a great way to bring together the ScrewAttack Community. I also like it because people can give original ideas without being told "What a stupid idea!"
I have an idea for a story. (It's a Comedy, and a feel good genre) It would be an alternate universe where everything is the same except at ScrewAttack. Angry Video Game Nerd didn't change his name from Angry Nintendo Nerd. Nintendo sues both ScrewAttack and James Rolfe when they sell their merchandise. ScrewAttack and James Rolfe declared they'd have to change their names and hault production on their popular clothes line. A group of G1s get enraged when they hadn't gotten refunds or their clothing. They band together to get ScrewAttack and James Rolfe back on track and stop Nintendo from destructing a great community.

Lol, that could work. There are alot of ideas we can do for this. Its possible that it could be a weekly series with different tales or a continuous adventure. Who knows.
ScrewAttack Story Series Decided!
Hello everyone,
I figured I would add onto this already existing post. I have made a decision tonight in regards to how the story stuff will play out for the series. Some episodes will be 2-parters and will be explained later.
The main characters are Craig, Ben, Corey, Destin and Jose but cameos from various g1s, interns and maybe even our yank loving friends in the UK.
I do not want to reveal to much right now as I think you'd enjoy the suprise but once the first episode is out, you will get the idea and I will be able to answer questions at that point. I can say that the stories will in fact be game related and that g1s will be able to vote on parts of the story later.
I am also talking to a few different artists in our community to possibly make some artwork for titles and maybe even a few pieces of art every so often in the story. I would like to have these pumped out once every week or bi-weekly so artwork may need to be minor to meet this goal.
Please look forward to the series. Who knows, maybe it'll even be added to the roster someday =p.

ScrewAttack Story Series 1-1 is now in the editing process
I have completed what I feel will be part 1 of episode 1 for the upcoming ScrewAttack story series. Each episode will likely be 4 parts to cut down on length. I have the basic outline and story written for part 1 but I am now going back and doing the editing to tighten things up, add more detail and make it better overall.
I am also talking to a few of our talented g1 artists to make a cover image for each individual story. I hope everyone looks forward to it. There are no g1s present in part 1 but they will start to show up in the parts from here on in. Private message me or write on the blog/forums to let me know if you are interested in a spot. Eventually that may become some sort of contest depending on its popularity. Thanks for the support and I will let you know when it is officially released.
