Jack Thompson and my Age rating rant

I have just watched the interview with Jack Thompson and i was suprised to hear the thoughts of what he truly thought about the games industry.

I have only heard of Jack Thompson through this website and researching on Wikipedia and this just going by this interview alone it seems to me that he does'nt reserve the reputation as "deucebag"

About taking the age limit thing seriously was a good point raised as that is something heavily overlooked in shops is checking the age.I have only been asked for an ID to prove that iam 15 or over (Iam 14)about 3 times and then they just say you cant buy. But give your Dad the money to buy the game and you can have the game to play for as long as you like so i could get away with buying GTA or Manhunt 1.

So my views on the parents being punished is if they let the child buy the game without a care or if they buy the game for the child when the child is in sight of a shopkeeper

The Games i needed ID for as i was told by the shop were Oni,Zone of the enders 1 And Soul Calibur 2

But yet My friend who 13 got away with getting GTA 3

More stores and parents need to abide the age rating systems

That's my rant done

Thanks

Seeing that 18+ none of this matters to me. Dont let the door hit you on the way out.

Boo Hoo Mustard makes me cry I hate it suicide

It has got a lot harder recently.

When I was little I could walk into any shop and get any game I wanted regardless of the age rating. The other day I went to buy GTA 3 as it was in a three games for £10 deal and I COMPLETELY forgot about the whole age thing. The dude asked if I had ID and I just said "No, sorry, I completely forgot about that, didn't realise, I'll go and swap it for something else."

I'm 20, and I got ID'ed when

I'm 20, and I got ID'ed when I bought GTA IV at Future Shop (Kinda like Best Buy).

The game store I usually shop at knows me though, and never IDs me. :D

I'm

I'm always with my parent when I buy video games. That's like me saying: ''You see bitch? Me and my parents are saying FUCK YOU to these age ratings!''

I.D.

Well, there was one time were I had to have one of my parents come into a Gamestop to buy one of my cousins who was visiting an M-rated game. The thing is, the age restriction rating means basically nothing as long as you have a parent with you. They'll buy what ever game it is, and the store clerk won't really do anything about it as long as the parent is there.

the way i see it

only kids who are responsible enough to play m rated should im 13 14 in november and i play the crap out of halo and cod4,but that doesn't mean im gonna go out and shoot everybody and if a child does do that whos to blame...the parents if they knew their kid was gonna do this whyd they get it for him or her
