Before I get started I need to say I do use enulators and I also use the actual systems so I know what the differences are so lets start this
Pros:
You can play games you are looking for but can't find
No loss of $
You can use Save States on games without saves
You can take a picture of the game and record video and sound
You can fix sprite problems
You can change sound settings (Ex. You can remove Sound effects or theme song)
If you use MAME you can get almost any Arcade game
Cons:
Doesn't feel right with keyboard
Gamepads also suck
Some roms may not work right
can lose disk space
newer games have shitty frame rate
can also cause viruses
nother con
sort of illegal.
Final Burn Alpha is the best
Final Burn Alpha is the best :)
runs most of the arcade games and you can hook up your xbox 360 or ps3 controller to your pc. Feels better with my 28 inch flat screen with 5.1 surround system.
Also, running a Ps1/Ps2, 64 emulator, you need a good computer and know how to mess with the settings. Finding the games is the easiest part.
My arcade list:
- X-men Vs. Street Fighter
- Marvel Super Heroes Vs. Street Fighter
- Marvel Vs. Capcom
- Marvel Vs. Capcom 2
- Street Fighter 2 Turbo
- Street Fighter Alpha 1,2,3
- Rival Schools 1, 2
- The King of Fighter 94, 95, 96, 97, 98, 99, 2000, 01, 02, 03.
- Capcom Vs. SNK 1, 2
- SNK Vs. Capcom Chaos
- Metal Slug 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, X
- Samurai Showdown 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
