I hear it. Its amazing what gamers can find when playing Detective. Sometimes a easter egg is right in front of us but hidden quite well. Well played Nintendo, well played.

I'm not sure I buy it. I can hear the change in pitch to an extent but nothing that screams at me it is the song. Has Nintendo or Totaka confirmed or denied this yet?

No, but the guys who make Pop Fiction admitted that they were wrong and are working on updating this episode (or so I hear, I can't actually say that as a fact, but hey they said this myth was a fact so why the hell not!). ALSO THIS.

I made this comment on GT, and was voted down pretty good for it. lol. I guess I should say that I don't really think it is the song personally. But I took the song they made out of the sound effects and put them in different order, but at the same timing. To me, if put out of order, it sounds even worse. The pitch of the sound effects do have a certain pattern to them, and putting them in a different order, it does sound a lot more off.

As I said on the comment on Gametrailers; It's inconclusive and further research is need to be done.
